The State of Precinct 2

In Precinct 2, July means it's time for the annual State of the Precinct luncheon hosted by area chambers of commerce. This year Commissioner Garcia took questions directly for the chambers for a dynamic conversation about everything from engaging businesses in emergency preparedness to Precinct 2's role in next year's FIFA World Cup. The theme of the event also focused on the accomplishments of Precinct 2 and our partners since 2019 and Commissioner Garcia's bold vision for the future of Precinct 2.

Special thanks to the Pasadena, South Belt - Ellington, La Porte-Bayshore, Deer Park, and Clear Lake Area chambers of commerce for hosting this important gathering of community leaders!

Revive2Thrive:

A new chapter for Denver Harbor Park

A $2 million upgrade is underway at Denver Harbor Park—also known as Selena Quintanilla Perez Park. We’re excited to bring this long overdue improvement to this park has that has been cornerstone for countless childhoods. With these upgrades, it will remain as a place where future generations to play and gather. Phase 1 includes a mile of walking path and west parking lot improvements. Thanks to strong partnerships with the City of Houston and State Rep. Ana Hernandez, we're revitalizing another community to make Precinct 2 the best play to live, work, and play for all.

Be a part shaping your community's future

Commissioner Garcia is dedicated to making Precinct 2 the best place to live, work, and play for everyone. Through our Revive2Thrive initiative, our team works alongside residents to prioritize investments in infrastructure improvements and community programs.

Dear Precinct 2, I love you

Love Letters to Precinct 2 is a public art initiative under Revive2Thrive, designed to transform community spaces through murals that reflect the pride and unique identities of neighborhoods across the precinct. The project also aims to increase tourism by making these areas more visually engaging and culturally vibrant. Currently, six murals are underway by local artists at Precinct 2 parks and community centers. Want to know when the murals will be unveiled? Follow us on Facebook for updates!

Summertime in Precinct 2

Summer means summer camp fun in Precinct 2! Since the beginning of June, we've seen 5,241 campers across all summer camps. Between visiting spending time exploring parks, going on field trips to museums, making arts and crafts, and learning new skills — our campers are enjoying every moment! Precinct 2 summer camp is a legacy program for generations and we’re excited to keep making summertime the best time for our youngest residents.
