Rev. Shavon Starling-Louis

The Rev. Shavon Starling-Louis is Co-Moderator of the 225th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, she is a graduate of Saint Leo University with a degree in Psychology. Serving as a church office administrator, campus ministry intern and ecumenical community office administrator led to a call to ministry, and she received her Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary.

After serving as pastor or co-pastor in several churches in Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Rhode Island, Starling-Louis is now senior pastor at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has written numerous articles and faith formation curricula for Christian publications, has served as a church leadership consultant, facilitated numerous workshops and collaborative learning spaces, and is a certified anti-racism facilitator.

Starling-Louis is married to Kirk Louis, and they share two children.

Congregation Commissioners may have a vote, but every congregation member is welcome to attend and share their vision and voice. Join us!
