Statehouse Boosts Funding for Community Behavioral Health Services and Crisis Response

As the 2023 Indiana General Assembly session wrapped up, the state's biennium budget was passed, with an increase in funding dedicated to the expansion of behavioral health services. Through its lobbying firm, Torchbearer Public Affairs, Aspire worked to help advance the legislation in the Statehouse.

The Indianapolis 500 Brings Business to Neighbors Including Johnson County

As the largest sports venue in the world, hosting up to 400,000 fans, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway attracts visitors from around the globe to the nine-county region. The IBJ estimated that the economic impact of the Indy 500 on the region alone is over $200 million, surpassing the Super Bowl.

“Anytime there is a massive event like the Indy 500, we certainly see a bump in hotel room bookings, restaurant reservations and overall visitor spending from the many visitors who come to Johnson County,” said Ken Kosky, Executive Director of Festival Country Indiana.

Center for Energy Education Hosts Workshop for Indiana Public Officials and Community Leaders

Registration is open for the Center for Energy Education's Workshops on Utility Scale Solar for Indiana Public Officials and Community Leaders. The June 8th workshop will be held from 8:30am to 3:30pm EST, at Franklin College's Science Center in Franklin, IN. Topics covered include environmental and safety impacts of solar tech, the economics of utility-scale solar projects, and legal considerations for landowners.

SBA Disaster Loans Available for Indiana Businesses, Homeowners, and Renters

The SBA Disaster Assistance Program provides Indiana small businesses, nonprofit organizations, homeowners, and renters with working capital to help overcome the economic injury as result of the disaster. The program assists with long-term, low-interest loans for rebuilding and repair of damaged property. Funds are also available for lost income / business disruption. The June 14th deadline for physical damage is approaching.
