Brooklyn, NY — The Kings County Democratic Party announced today that the Appellate Division has stayed and suspended, pending argument, the lower court ruling issued by Judge Jill Epstein. The stay restores the Party’s rights under the duly adopted rule changes until the next hearing.
By issuing the stay, the court has allowed the status quo that existed prior to Judge Epstein’s ruling to remain in place while the appeal proceeds.
The Party will continue its appeal while moving forward under the guidance of State Party Chair Jay Jacobs, whose recommendations support allowing the full County Committee to vote on these proposals at the organizing meeting.
“Our focus remains on ensuring a transparent, functional, and modern Democratic Party structure that reflects the needs of Brooklyn’s diverse electorate.
