Statement of DRNY’s Executive Director, Tim Clune on the Supreme Court’s Ruling
Overturning Roe v Wade
June 29, 2022

The overturning of Roe v. Wade has decimated the civil and human rights to bodily autonomy and self-determination for millions of people.

For more than 30 years, DRNY has been fighting to preserve all of our precious civil rights. We fight for the community we serve, including our family and friends.

DRNY advocates for the people of New York by investigating and litigating to remove barriers that exist to the exercise and enjoyment of these civil rights.

This Supreme Court’s decision has vindictively imposed barriers to all the childbearing people of this country. To be clear, more lives will now be at risk and marginalized communities will suffer the most.

DRNY unequivocally supports the right to choose.  DRNY will provide information on choice, including access to abortion in New York State.

Congress must immediately address this travesty and codify the right to bodily autonomy and self-determination, including the right to choose an abortion.
