Statement on the Passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

On behalf of the Law Society of Alberta, we extend our deepest condolences to the members of the Royal Family with the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. For over 70 years, she served the Commonwealth with poise and a steadfast dedication to public service.

There are a significant number of forms and templates posted to the Court’s website and elsewhere that contain references to the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and/or Her Majesty the Queen.

Counsel and litigants are encouraged to adopt the new nomenclature in filings. However, the Court will continue to accept forms and other filed documents that refer to the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and/or Her Majesty the Queen, until further notice.
