Director's Message
Summer is Here, Let's Give a Big Cheer!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful and safe summer. It has been pretty busy here at the Staten Island Small Business Development Center despite the summer vacation months, as clients are coming in and taking time to have one-on-one counseling with our advisors. Our SBDC business counselors continue to assist new and existing clients, giving clients the freedom to grow.

To kick off the summer, in the month of June our Staten Island SBDC Staff participated in various events including webinars, seminars, and workshops. The Boost Your Business: Facebook Marketing and Networking Event provided the best practices to build your business and your brand.  This was an excellent way to show business owners how to build an action plan and how to save money within your business.

Our staff has been very active in participating and coordinating events for our Veterans. From the Veteran's Resource Fair at Staten Island Borough Hall this past July to the upcoming Oktoberfest on October 15th, we have been providing information for our Veterans in regards to our special services and opportunities to get their feet back on the ground.
Stay tuned for our "Boots to Business" Program kick-off with the SBA this fall!
The SBDC re-accreditation team visited the College of Staten Island SBDC office on August 3rd. The SBDC staff reviewed our policies and procedures with the re-accreditation team. I'm proud of our team and all the effort involved in preparing for the visit and reviews.

We have much to celebrate and look forward to as we continue to work with the Staten Island and Brooklyn communities.
We look forward to bringing you more informative and resourceful seminars and workshops in the upcoming months.
Congratulations and well done to all!
