September 10, 2020

Dear VCS Community,

We pray this letter finds your family in good health. As we approach the end of the fourth week of instruction, we hope your school year is off to a wonderful start. Thank you for entrusting us with the education of your child(ren).

To keep you informed, we are sharing the latest COVID-19 information from the SCC Emergency Operations Center. On August 28, 2020, the State of California released its Blueprint for a Safer Economy, which outlined a tiered system of COVID-19 restrictions for all California counties to follow. Santa Clara County is currently in Red, Tier Two. Under this designation, schools can reopen for in-person instruction after the county has remained in the red tier for 14 days. VCS will follow the Public Health Department's requirements: COVID-19 Prepared: Reopening of Santa Clara County K-12 Schools for the 2020-2021 School Year and all applicable State requirements.

Barring any setbacks, VCS plans a phased reopening of our campuses for in-person hybrid instruction. Our principals will provide detailed plans for reopening each campus. Even then, we will continue to honor our parents' instructional delivery preference for their student(s), whether at home or on campus.

Next week we will provide you with our K-12 The Road Ahead – Back to Campus planning guide with the latest information on the COVID-19 prevention, monitoring, and response preparations taking place across our campuses. As we prepare for safe, in-person instruction, we anticipate the enthusiastic return of our students.

We thank you for your continued partnership and prayer support for our families, our community, and our world.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)

In this together,
