Saints Series
This week: Saint Nunzio Sulprizio (Feast Day: May 5)
Saint Nunzio Sulprizio, a 19 year old poor kid from Italy who “couldn't catch a break”, but he spread the joy of the Gospel to everyone he met.

Coming Soon:
  • May 10 - Saint Isidore the Farmer, and his wife Saint Maria. A married couple from Spain who worked hard, prayed hard, and served the Lord.
  • May 17 - Saint Rita of Cascia, a woman who married a cantankerous man, raised two sons, and then became a widow at a relatively young age. She spent the rest of her life as a nun, serving the poor and inspiring others.
  • May 24 - Saint Philip Neri, a priest from Rome, who believed that laughter and joy were essential in preaching the Gospel to the poorest residents of every city.

Women's Book Study - THIS WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY
Our May selection will be Learning To Pray. New York Times bestselling author Father James Martin, SJ, explains how anyone can have an intimate relationship with God through prayer. Fr. Martin provides a primer on the rich history of different styles of prayer and allows each reader to discover the ways that work best for them. With a willingness to open one’s heart, prayer is accessible to anyone-from the doubtful seeker to the devout believer. Join us as we seek to recognize the possibilities of prayer in our own lives.

The Book Club will meet for discussion via Zoom on May 5th at 7 p.m. and May 7th 10:30 a.m. To join us, contact Teresa Lee - TLee@stmarysrichmond.org.

Work Camp 2021
Dear St. Mary’s Families with Youth,
The parish is exploring doing two week-long Work “Day” Camp Experiences this July at the parish.

  • July 19-23… a High School Camp (for Rising 2021-22 Grades 9 -12, plus 2021 Graduates)
  • July 26-30… a Middle School Camp (for Rising 2021-22 Grades 6 -8)

Camps would probably include 9am Mass, on-site service projects in morning, late lunch and mid-afternoon activity. For now, we are building an “interest list” of youth participants, adult project leaders and chaperones as we organize the camp in May and June. Formal registration to follow in June. All who are interested in a camp, should e-mail Laura and Chris at lstapleton@stmarysrichmond.org and cjenkins@stmarysrichmond.org to express interest by May 5. We’ll then follow-up as details emerge.
