Human Concerns
BLANKETS NEEDED!!

We received a call Saturday from Gene Garrison at the Salvation Army asking if we could collect blankets this week to distribute to the homeless population they are serving locally. The blankets may be new or gently used, and any size is welcome. If you are able to help, there is a table set up in the lower hallway marked for blankets, and your donations may be left there Monday, February 22 through Thursday, February 25 between the hours of 9am-3pm, and on Friday, February 26 until 12 noon. They will pick up the donated blankets on Friday, and distribute them on the weekend. This need is immediate! AND, its immediacy ties in directly with Father Michael’s weekend homily-----calling us to act now and not to put things that need to happen on the back burners of our lives! SO---thank you for assisting with this need this week, and for your constant support of all of our outreach opportunities ---especially during this season of Lent.

SUPPORT FOR LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR

The week of February 22-26, we will collect items needed by the sisters for their ministry at St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged on Michaels Road. Please choose items from the list and leave them on the tables in the lower hallway that week between 9am-3pm.

NEEDED: luncheon sized napkins, bite-sized regular and sugar-free candy bars, instant coffee, regular and decaf, regular-sized bottles of body wash/shower gel, and body lotion, medium-sized bottles of alcohol-free mouth wash, compostable Easter themed napkins, cups, dinner and dessert plates, #10 cans of peaches, pears, fruit cocktail corn, peas, and green beans. These cans contain 109 oz of food.

Thank you for your generosity.

There will be teaching, quiet time for personal reflection, breakout sessions for small group sharing, and prayer. The facilitator is Teresa Tivenan, LCSW, a parishioner from St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Participation is limited so please register soon.

Women's Book Study - via Zoom
Our March selection will be The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd. Grounded in meticulous historical research and written with a reverential approach to Jesus's life that focuses on his humanity, The Book of Longings is an inspiring account of one woman's bold struggle to realize the passion and potential inside her, while living in a time, place, and culture devised to silence her.

The Book Club will meet for discussion on March 3rd at 7:00 pm and March 5th 10:30 am. Both meetings will take place via Zoom.

Eucharistic Outreach - sign up today to receive Holy Communion
  • Are you and your family still unable to attend Mass?
  • Are you longing to receive Holy Communion?
  • Would you like to have Communion brought to your home?
Starting now, Eucharistic Ministers are available to bring Communion to your home. For these visits, both the minister and recipient(s) will follow all COVID guidelines. The frequency of these home visits will be determined by the number of people who sign up, so we ask you to register now if you would like to have someone bring you Communion at home. Please note: Due to additional restrictions, we are unable to offer this ministry to those living in facilities. If you have already registered, you do not need to register again.
