Forest Bathing at Rushton Farm - Saturday 8/16

Enjoy Forest Bathing this Saturday from 9-11:30 at Rushton Farm, part of the Williston Conservation Trust in Newtown Square.

"With origins inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, Forest Bathing or Forest Therapy, harnesses the health and restorative benefits the natural world holds for us. This experience will be a bit different than a traditional outdoor guided walk, not focusing on sharing naturalist knowledge or identification, but instead allowing the forest and birds to intentionally guide us into slowing our pace by a skilled leader who is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide."

"Accessibility information: This program has been developed for most all mobility levels. In tradition with Forest Bathing principals, this will be a slow-paced walk on wide and flat unpaved trails."

For more information and to register, go to CLICK HERE.

Date: Saturday, August 16

Time: 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Location: Rushton Conservation Center, 915 Delchester Road, Newtown Square, PA

Help with Rides

Can you offer an occasional ride to our members? Details can be flexible: maybe someone needs a ride TO an appointment but will be picked up by someone else. Or someone has a regular monthly appointment, and one volunteer might be able to provide a ride each month.

Stephanie McDonough, SSCA Administrator, does her best to match those needing rides with those who can provide them. Whether you need a ride or can offer one (or both!), you can reach Stephanie at (484) 437-8272. If you can offer rides, you can let her know your general availability. If you need a ride, please allow at least a few days in advance for the best possibility of a successful match with a driver.

Looking for more?

The SSCA offers a number of programs and other ways to get involved. Please email SwarthmoreSeniors@gmail.com to indicate your interests.
