More than 40 Ottawa construction companies come together to hold their inaugural drive-by of trucks and heavy equipment vehicles to the delight of local families and young patients of CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario).

According to a release from the Ontario Construction Secretariat (OCS), Statistics Canada’s latest labour force data was released on September 10th, showing an additional 10,000 construction industry jobs in Ontario in August compared to July (an increase of 1.9%). Employment in the construction industry in Ontario rose to 534,700 in August, the highest level since April.

A COVID-19 vaccine passport system kicked in Wednesday in Ontario, requiring people to show proof of vaccination for entry into thousands of non-essential venues across the province. Restaurants, bars, sports venues, gyms, theatres, cinemas, event spaces and casinos are among the locations where staff must ask patrons to show certification that they received two doses of an approved vaccine at least two weeks before, along with identification that matches their vaccination document.
