Winter 2021

THANK YOU to these generous donors for
the following health equipment donations!
Little Rock EMS donated the box of their old ambulance to NCC. This equipment will be used to train future EMT students.
Osceola Regional Health Center donated two ER Stretchers to NCC’s Nursing Department. These beds will be used to transport manikins into the classroom for hands on learning. When the new Allied Health addition is complete, the ER beds will find their home in the ER simulation room and be instrumental in student learning.
NCC hopes to start its newest intercollegiate program, soccer, in the next few years! Northwest Iowa Community College is working in collaboration with the Sheldon Community School District to build a turf athletic field, which would be located at the Sheldon High School athletic complex. The field is scheduled to be installed in the Summer of 2022, and will be ready for use by the Sheldon Community High School in the Fall of 2022 for their soccer, football and marching band programs. NCC intends to play its first intercollegiate soccer match on the field in either Fall 2023 or Fall 2024.
AUTOMOTIVE STUDENTS EXPERIENCE
SERVICE LEARNING THROUGH CHARITABLE CHARIOTS
On Tuesday, November 23, the Automotive & Light Duty Diesel program donated a refurbished 2007 Ford Fusion to a family in need through NCC’s Skills USA Charitable Chariots program. Since 2009, the automotive program has donated 24 vehicles through the Charitable Chariots program. Families that receive the donated vehicles are selected by area social service agencies.

DID YOU KNOW...
NCC now offers a Medical Laboratory Technology Program?!

NCC has a shared program agreement with Kirkwood Community College (KCC) for the Medical Laboratory Technology program. Kirkwood provides the core MLT courses and NCC provides the general education courses. Students do not have to travel to KCC to complete program requirements as all core courses are offered online, via Zoom and at hospitals located in Northwest Iowa. Do you know of a student interested in this field?! Have them contact the NCC Admissions Office – [email protected].
The Fall 2021 edition of The Connection is available now...click here to view! If you did not receive your copy of NCC’s publication for alumni and friends, make sure your address is updated.
It’s the season of giving and NCC encourages you to consider a donation that will impact the lives of NCC students like Andrew. Your support makes a difference!
