COMING SOON!
You’re Invited to Mr. Rogers Intergenerational Service Day!
A Day of Friendship, Fun, and Neighborly Service
Wednesday, July 30, 6-8pm, Wing Grace Hall
When the world’s problems feel too big for us to even make any difference at all, Mister Rogers reminds us that the smallest act of kindness can change the world. God calls us to break bread with our neighbors, join in service for the least of these, and bring the gospel message of love out into the world. This evening of service will provide an opportunity for us to participate in that calling!
Our evening in Mister Roger’s Neighborhood kicks off at 6pm with King Friday’s Feast- a light supper the whole neighborhood will love – including Daniel Tiger’s Sliders!
The program will feature songs from members of the Common Grace Band that uplift the spirit of love and community. Enjoy interactive storytelling with Erica Carlson and some of her furry and spiky friends. We will feature a short film tribute to Mr. Rogers himself, renewing our calling to love and offer kindness to our neighbors in need. Enjoy a game of friendship bingo with fun prizes!
Then we’ll roll up our sleeves to spread kindness through hands-on service projects:
- Build “Kindness Kits” for our unsheltered neighbors and Heart to Heart families.
- Write caring “Neighbor Notes” to brighten and bless someone’s day.
- Create a reverse scavenger hunt to take home and share with a neighbor or friend so you can leave a little act of kindness behind. And don’t worry – we’ll have craft options for all ages!
- Add your voice to the X the Owl’s Kindness Tree – a growing display of neighborly love in our church.
Whether you’re 5 or 95, there is something for you in the Neighborhood.
Come make a memory. Come make a difference. Come be a neighbor.
