Today's Message from our Pastor ...
May 28, 2020

Dear Friends:

It has been a joy to see more and more parishioners returning to Saint Mary's Church during this first phase of our reopening process. At the liturgies last weekend, and at our Daily Masses, my heart is full of gratitude as I see the smiling faces of parishioners who are young and old! (Yes, I can tell that they are smiling even though they are wearing masks!)

Our pre-registration process for weekend Masses remains open until 3:00 PM on Friday afternoon. We ask you to carefully read all of the information that is shared below, and please continue to pre-register for each specific Mass that you wish to attend. Sadly, we are not able to allow you into the building if you do not register for Mass. We also are not able to let you into the building if you do not have a face mask (ages 3 and up) and if you arrive after Mass has begun. We appreciate your understanding as we work to comply with all of the safety directives that have been given to us.

We are also grateful to everyone who continues to stay connected to the parish through our daily emails. In the past two months, our on-line video resources (Masses, Scripture reflections & musical offerings) have been viewed over 35,000 times! We will continue to work hard to provide these on-line opportunities to everyone in the weeks ahead!

If you have any questions about pre-registering for a weekend or daily Mass, please feel free to call the parish office. And if you know of anyone who needs practical assistance during this time (food, rent, medical assistance, etc.) please contact the parish office and we will be happy to respond.

“STEP UP AND HELP” FOOD DRIVE MAY 30

In memory of Jane O’Toole, one of our parishioners who died in 2017, her family and friends have hosted the “Walk4JaneO” each spring since 2018 to benefit a charity. This year, the walk is not possible, but they have created a wonderful plan to serve others in our community. The “WALK” team will be hosting a food drive to support the Henrico County Public Schools Department of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) COVID-19 donation program and the Pantry/Partner program—both groups are feeding vulnerable children and families especially during this time. The food drive will be held at the Gleneagles Shopping Center on Ridgefield Parkway from 9am-noon on Saturday May 30. The food drive will take place in the southwest corner of the parking lot there. Suggested items to donate: breakfast bars ( Nutri-grain, or granola), crackers and pretzels, instant oatmeal, juice and juice boxes, mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, Ramen noodles, soups, and gallon size Ziplock bags.SO—please STEP UP & HELP!! For more information, e-mail: [email protected] ; or call: (804) 908-3721.
