Dueling Pianos: A Night to Remember

What a night! Last week, guests packed into the Centennial Banquet & Conference Center for an unforgettable evening of live music, laughter, and friendly rivalry at Dueling Pianos.

The night kicked off with a lively social hour from 5–6pm, giving guests the perfect chance to mingle, grab a drink, and settle in before the main event. Then, from 6–8pm, the real fun began. Guests put in song requests all night, and our dueling pianists battled it out live, turning every request into an electric sing-along moment.

But no party is complete without great food and drinks! Guests enjoyed a lineup of delicious dinner specials, including Philly cheesesteaks, flatbread pizzas, wings, and more! To wash it all down, the bar served up two drinks – a Classic Cosmopolitan and a Margarita.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event such a hit! If you missed it this time, don't worry — the pianos will be back, and the rivalry is far from over. Stay tuned for more!

Deployment Support Starts Here

Deployment is one of the most common experiences Soldiers and Families face — and one of the most challenging. That's why Army Community Service (ACS) offers dedicated support through its Mobilization, Deployment and Stability and Support Operations (MD&SSO) program, designed to walk Soldiers and Families through every stage of the deployment cycle: before departure, during time apart, and after homecoming.

MD&SSO connects Soldiers, Families, and Units with training, classes, and support services designed to reduce stress, answer questions, and solve problems early. Their goal is simple: When Families feel supported, Soldiers can stay focused on the mission.

Support spans the full deployment journey, including pre-deployment briefings, guidance on benefits and finances, support for Families while loved ones are away, training for Soldier & Family Readiness Groups, and assistance for rear detachment teams and volunteers.

For more details on classes geared towards deployment and mission readiness, CLICK HERE.

To speak to one of our experts, call 915-569-5500.

Whatever stage of deployment you're facing, you don't have to navigate it alone. We're here to support you, and your MWR Family will be there every step of the way!

Happy Monday everyone, and happy (almost) September! Welcome to our MWR Spotlight!

You've used the facilities — now let’s meet the people behind them. Every week, we're pulling back the curtain and highlighting one of our MWR staff members: Who they are, where they work, their roles, and a fun fact that none of us knew!

MEET AIDA ARVELO

Where You’re From: I was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in El Paso, TX

Role: Recreation Assistant

Facility/Program: Art & Hobby Shop

Time at Fort Bliss MWR: More than 5 years!

A fun fact about me: I'm a boy mom who loves traveling everywhere and making memories with my family!

What people don't realize about my job: People always see the finished class or event but there's a lot that happens behind the scenes! My job involves planning, scheduling, coordinating instructors/volunteers, preparing supplies, and sometimes jumping in to help wherever Fort Bliss MWR needs support.

Favorite part of working here: My favorite part of working here are the people and the sense of community. I love being able to use creativity to bring people together and create experiences where members of the community can learn something new, have fun and feel connected.

Next time you're at the stopping by the Art & Hobby Shop, say hey to Aida!

Thank you for all the fun you provide to our MWR community, Aida!
