ART JOURNALING
(Please Note Changed Date)
Thursday March 13th @ 1pm
Most of us have had short-lived attempts at writing a diary or painting a canvas of a special place in our lives. But with the help and the encouragement of other beginners, you might just see how combining a few of your words with some simple sketches in a journal book can become a continuing practice which will feed your soul. And most journalists find there is fun and good fellowship to be had by sharing journaling ideas with a small group.

FRIDAY MUSICALE CONCERT
Friday March 14th @ 1:15pm
The Friday Musicale meets to share a one hour program 6 times a year on the 2nd Friday of the month at 1:15 p.m. October-April (except January). They are affiliated with the National Federation of Music Clubs and Indiana Arts Festival. The National Federation of Music Clubs, founded in 1898, is now the world’s largest philanthropic music organization supporting American music and musicians. Members are professional and amateur musicians, composers, dancers, performing artists, arts and music educators, students, generous benefactors, and music lovers who are interested in creating a dynamic musical and cultural environment in their communities. Carol Scheuer started playing the piano at age three. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Piano and Business at Indiana University. Music sat on the shelf while she pursued a career in technology and marketing for corporations in Silicon Valley and Santa Barbara, California and IU. While working full-time as a Senior Marketing Consultant at Apple, Carol earned a Master of Music in Piano Performance at San Francisco State University. After nearly two decades, she returned to Bloomington with a goal to retire early and become more musically active. Carol has hosted and participated in faculty and alumni piano workshops, accompanied the Quarryland Men's Chorus, and performed in other venues with members. Learning music remains what she enjoys most, along with playing for her kitties, Linus and Lucy, her biggest fans! Thanks so much for your gracious hospitality in allowing the Friday Musicale to hold a program at St. Mark's. All of our programs are free and open to the public!

LENTEN CONTEMPLATIVE SERVICES
Wednesday Evenings at 7pm
Plan to enrich your Lenten Spiritual Journey by attending a series of varied contemplative worship experiences led by members of the St. Mark’s community. We’ll meet each week (Except for March 19th) in the Library at 7:00 PM for song, prayer and reflection. We hope to see you for these services during this Lenten season.
SACRED AND MEDITATIVE MUSIC FOR LENT Wednesday March 12th 7pm in the Library
This service will begin with introductions, followed by a discussion led by Charlie Matson about how sacred & meditative music can be a part of an easy but rich spiritual practice for Lent. We will start by listening to sacred music with Handel's chorus "Behold the Lamb." Then we will thoughtfully sing the Celtic hymn of "Be Thou My Spirit." Next, we will try a short meditation with the help of two peaceful pieces by Ola Gjeilo. The group will have a chance to share their reflections on the three different practices. The service will end with Chris Haynes giving a short summary of the techniques & potential spiritual rewards of Centering Prayer which will be the primary focus of the April 9th service.

CHURCH DIRECTORY
COMING SOON!
Join us in updating our Realm Directory
The Membership and Hospitality team is working to create a church directory for our new minister John, as well as for all of us.
We are using our current church database system, Realm for this effort. We use Realm to keep track of membership and constituents who support St. Mark's.
Directions for participating including uploading your picture and updating your personal information (address, phone number, email) are below and available in print at church. We need everyone to participate to make this a useful document.
The next session for help with pictures and updating your profile will be after worship on March 16th. Questions: contact the church office or Maria Schmidt.
