UOIT, Durham College and the Spark Innovation Centre have partnered together to provide assistance to companies focused on robotics, automation, and/or controls.

The NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) will provide funds to the three partners to support collaborations with small Canadian companies. This programs builds on the success of last year’s inaugural program, which assisted 11 small companies with technical and business challenges.


  • Companies must submit a 2-page application form. Eligible companies must be incorporated and have fewer than 15 employees.
  • If successful, up to $10,000 in funding will be awarded to UOIT to support the project with the company.
  • The funds can be used to support the company access to expertise, research and development, specialized facilities, etc.

Please note that applicants have to identify a specific robotics, automation and controls project for the application. Please return the completed form to by October 31, 2017
