Vanessa Bryant is remembering her late daughter, Gianna Bryant, on her birthday.
Gianna tragically died in January alongside her father, Kobe Bryant, and seven other victims in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. She was 13 years old. On Friday, Vanessa took to Instragram with a special message for Gianna on what would have been her 14th birthday.

This One Light at Disneyland Always Stays on, Even When It’s Closed — Here’s the Sweet Reason. Disneyland may be closed indefinitely amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but one light in the park continues to shine day and night, even if no visitors are there to see it. The light illuminates a window in what was once Walt Disney’s apartment, which overlooks Disneyland’s Town Square from above the firehouse. For decades, it has stayed lit all day long in honor of the founder, who used to watch guests move through his park from the same window.

Youth Programs to Help Young People during COVID-19 Pandemic
|
The City of Sacramento’s Youth Division — part of the Department of Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment — has created new virtual resources and activities for Sacramento’s young people to provide support during the COVID-19 outbreak and stay-at-home orders. The Youth Division launched a plan April 27 on Instagram, Facebook and the City’s website to help keep youth socially engaged.

Reopen Salons in California June 1st!
|
Reconsider reopening salons in Phase 2 with limitations such as one client at a time per stylist. We will maintain 6 feet apart in between all stations and wear protective gear. All necessary precautions and sanitation protocols approved by the state of CA and the local Board of Health will be followed. Our industry needs to be recognized and deemed as an essential business so we can better serve our community.
Servicing one client at a time (while wearing a mask and gloves) poses little to no risk of spreading the virus, as compared to 20 or more people in a grocery store or 10 plus people at restaurants picking up food.

CENSUS INVITES HAVE BEEN MAILED
The invitation includes information on how to fill out the Census form and will include a unique Census ID linked to a physical address. All Californians will be able to respond online or by phone, with limited households initially receiving the paper form. A Census ID is not required for households to respond online or by phone.

Black business owners can use Census data to make informed decisions about where to open businesses and when to explore new opportunities. Let’s empower our community with data. Make sure we all count in the #2020Census.
