The Sonar:
Your weekly news and updates
Dear NDA Parents,

We thank you dear parents for your time and your support of the Academy by attending our Back-To-School-Nights (BTSN). Your presence reflects the power of our school, of our working together for the sake of your children. Your children are so precious to us!

Last night, we met with our our wonderful Preschool and Kinder Prep families, and look look forward to meeting our Kinder through 4th grade parents on Tuesday, September 10th, and then our 5th-8th grade parents on Wednesday, September 11th. These parent-only meetings will begin in your child's homeroom at 5:45pm.

We have a special invitation for the parents who are new to NDA this year. At 5pm, before your Back-To-School Night, all of our homeroom and special area teachers will be assembled in the Dempsey Social Hall so you can meet the whole team instructing your children. Administration and members of our Parent Guild will also be on hand to answer questions. If you missed the invitation, emailed yesterday, here is the link so you can RSVP.

STAR Renaissance testing occurs at NDA and throughout the Diocese of San Diego over the next few weeks. The STAR Test is administered three times a year. This is the first time your student will take the assessment this year.

Assessment results will be provided to parents after the testing period. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to discuss the results of your student’s assessment. As a reminder, the STAR Test is only a single snapshot into the overall picture of your child’s progress.

Families are encouraged to schedule doctor, dentist, or other appointments on days that will not impact the testing schedule. We are aware that this is not always possible, so we will have make-up testing throughout the testing period. There is no need to study for the STAR Test. The best way to help your student prepare is to give them a nutritious breakfast and good night’s rest.

Future STAR Tests:
Jan. 13-31
Apr. 27- May 15
Note: Revised Schedule
(8-2 will test on Tuesday instead of tomorrow, 9/5)
