San José Opens Applications for 2025 Creative Ambassador Program

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Creative Ambassador program.

Deadline to submit applications:

Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, by 11:59 p.m.

Need help? Virtual Information session, Wednesday, Aug. 14, 5:30 p.m. on Zoom.

For the program guidelines and application, please visit the Office of Economic Development and Cultural Affairs’ Creative Ambassador page at www.sanjoseculture.org.

Creative Ambassadors champion the power of creative expression and engage residents in finding their creative voice.

Creative Ambassadors will serve a one-year term starting Jan. 2025, during which they will produce a creative project that invites active participation from residents and celebrates the diversity of San José’s cultural communities.

Up to five Creative Ambassadors will be selected for the 2025 term. Each Ambassador will receive a stipend of $9,500 to develop and implement an approved creative expression project within the Ambassador’s term.

Launched in 2019, there have been 24 Creative Ambassadors for the City including this year’s artists.

You’re invited to be our champions for safer streets at the 4th Annual Bike to the Future: Ride for Safer Streets, taking place at the Santa Clara County Building in San Jose, on October 6, 2024. Last year's Bike to the Future Ride was a huge success, thanks to your enthusiasm and commitment.

Join us in our mission to transform El Camino Real into a safer corridor for all road users. With your support, we can reach our goal of $60,000 for our Bike to the Future event, enabling us to make a lasting impact. Every dollar counts towards safer infrastructure and raising awareness about the urgent need for a multi-use corridor with pedestrian pathways and protected bike lanes, paving the way to a future free from traffic collisions.

For 2024, we're excited to unveil brand-new routes, including an inaugural century ride. We're paving the way for an unparalleled event, offering access to premium ride routes that promise to inspire and challenge.

We are offering several ticket tiers to accommodate different needs:

  • Early Bird Registration: Secure your spot at $85 now until September 6, 2024, and enjoy discounted access to all the ride has to offer.
  • Regular Registration: Until October 6, 2024 tickets are available at $100.
  • Community Partner Registration: Available at a discounted rate of $50, this option is designed to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all members of our community. It is open to local groups, community-based organizations, and non-profit staff.
  • Group Discount Ticket: Gather your colleagues or friends and take advantage of our group discount! Tickets are available for groups of 5 or more at $75 per person, offering even greater savings for your team.

Create or join a team. Teams collectively have a fundraising commitment of $350 by December 31, 2024. Teams will have the chance to win exciting prizes until the end of the year! Your efforts will make a significant impact and help us achieve our goals. Sponsorship opportunities are available - deadline Friday, August 31st.

It's not too late to advocate, ride, and donate for safer streets in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Together, we can make a difference and create safer streets and a greener future for all!
