CIE PARTNER CONNECTION

March 2026

Changes Are Coming:

Stay Informed, Connected & Prepared

Recent changes enacted through House Resolution 1 (H.R. 1) will affect CalFresh access for some qualified noncitizens. As a result, a portion of individuals previously eligible for food benefits will no longer meet program requirements.

To support partners and community organizations in communicating these changes, CDSS has released two new outreach materials:

Partners are encouraged to share these outreach tools broadly with the communities they serve.

(Materials in additional languages will be released soon.)

Resources and Events:

Ramadan

"The holy month of Ramadan is celebrated by Muslims on the 9th month of the Islamic lunar calendar all around the world and is a time of introspection. Muslims abstain from eating and drinking during daytime to remind themselves of those less fortunate and to strengthen their relationship with their faith. Muslims gather and take part in different activities, such as engaging in social events, feasts, prayers and acts of charity. During Ramadan, Muslims break their dawn-to-dusk fast with a community-focused meal called Iftar."
