Santa Anita Gazebo Under Construction

Construction of the new gazebo at Santa Anita Park, situated along Bell Street, is nearing completion. The final addition of a new picnic table is on order, and we look forward to celebrating this addition with the community soon. This project was made possible by a $60,000 Community Development Block Grant awarded to FECRPD by SHRA.

General Manager's Message

Dear Neighbors,

Welcome to the first FECRPD community newsletter!

On behalf of the Board of Directors and District staff, we are excited to connect with you and share news about our parks, programs and people. There are many great things happening in our community and I’d like to share just a few highlights.

Measure Q: Thank you for your investment in our community parks! The $24 million Measure Q bonds will help transform and modernize our parks and facilities. This summer, we sold our first round of $8 million in bond funds. In August, the Board approved the initial phase of projects. Phase 1 projects are planned for all seven parks and design work has begun. Measure Q Project Updates Click: Here

Park Improvements: In addition to Measure Q projects, the District has completed other improvement projects, including the new solar powered sheltered picnic tables at Howe Park and the new gazebo at Santa Anita Park. These projects were funded by SMUD and Sacramento County grants awarded to the District.

Programs: From youth camps to sports leagues to senior day trips, this summer was packed with programs at our parks, pool and facilities. Find out more about how to get involved in our programs, leagues, classes and events by visiting our Activity Guide for Spring, Summer and Fall(Click Here).

Community Service: In our focus on community service, the District partnered with six state organizations (CA Conservation Corp, Cal OES, CA Dept. of Public Health, State of CA Energy Commission, CA Dept. of Conservation and CA Dept. of Managed health Care) for the Disability Pride Month Cottage Park Clean Up in July. Volunteers worked together to give Cottage Park a terrific clean-up for all to enjoy.

Please connect with us on Facebook, Instagram, and website to stay up-to-date in between our newsletters. And help us get the word out by sharing with your friends and neighbors!

Warm regards,

Emily Ballus, General Manager

Park Safety

Even the safest parks benefit from being prepared. At FECRPD, all parks fall under the care of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s North Central District 4.
If there’s an emergency in any of our parks, always dial 9‑1‑1 immediately. For non-emergency situations—like reporting unsafe conditions, lost items, or suspicious behavior—please call the Sheriff’s non-emergency line at 916‑874‑5115. You can also reach out to the FEC District office at 916-927-3802 or you can make an
online submission(Click Here).
