President's Message
Thank you to each and every one of you who helped make the LWV Day of Action a success. On Friday, August 7, over 25 LWV Dare members wrote and
addressed 535 Get Out The Vote postcards. Great words of encouragement were scribed, “You are the future of this country. You can help shape it by voting your
choices.”; “Even a single vote can impact a close election – yours truly matters”;
“Please plan to vote this year. Your voice matters!” The postcards will be mailed in
early October. A big ‘Thank You’ to our PR Director and Newsletter editor, Kathleen
Wasniewski, for designing the postcard.
As a follow-up to our Get Out the Vote campaign, door hangers will be available
at the Kick-Off Event on Thursday, September 10 (6-7:30 pm, Outer Banks Community
Foundation, Manteo). We ask you to walk your neighborhood and distribute the election
information hangers at the doors of your neighbors. Let’s make this a strong year for
voter turnout.
As our postcard reminds us, “Democracy Works Best When Everyone
Participates!”
Please join us on September 10 for our Kick-Off/Get Out the Vote event.
