CONSTRUCTION NOTICE: Remaining Final Paving on Genesee Avenue 

For the Morena Northern Tunnels and Pipeline project, crews have completed installation of the 48-inch and 30-inch pipelines, as well as the base repairs required for final paving. Paving is complete on most portions of Genesee Avenue.

Remaining Final Paving and Restoration

Beginning Thursday, August 27, and continuing on Sunday, August 30, crews will begin final paving on Genesee Avenue at the following locations:

• Northbound Genesse Avenue from Appleton Street to the eastbound SR-52 on-ramp
• Northbound Genesee Avenue from the westbound SR-52 off-ramp to April Court
• Northbound and southbound Genesee Avenue from Governor Drive to Decoro Street

Crews will grind the roadway with heavy equipment before applying a new layer of asphalt. Work will take place during the nighttime, with work scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.

Traffic controls will be effect throughout the work zone, and on-site crews will guide vehicles through intersections as needed. The traffic controls will be picked up at the end of each shift. 

What to Expect:



• Increased noise and dust are expected throughout the duration of the grinding and paving work.
• Electronic message boards will provide advance notice of traffic control changes.
• Parking restrictions will be enforced. Please do not park in posted no-parking areas; vehicles in violation will be towed.
• Access for emergency vehicles, residents, and businesses will be maintained at all times.
• Please expect traffic delays and construction noise during work hours.For your safety, please follow all posted signs and traffic detours.
