Farmington Avenue

Phase 2B

  • Install detectable warning pavers.
  • Clean the work area and remove protection.

Phase 4B

  • Remove existing pavement in the alleyway.
  • Access through the alleyway to the parking lot will be restricted during construction, tentatively October 19–20.
  • Install and grade the sidewalk base.
  • Form, pour, and saw-cut new concrete sidewalks.
  • Prepare planting areas and place topsoil.
  • Remove protective coverings and clear equipment and materials from the phase.

Phase 9

  • Adjust utility frames to match the finished pavement elevation.
  • Install and grade the sidewalk base.
  • Form and pour sidewalks at storefronts.
  • Prepare for and install granite curbing.
  • Eastbound Farmington Avenue between LaSalle Road and Main Street will be closed during work hours for this operation due to limited lane width.
  • Prepare for reconstruction of the concrete driveway apron at the Farmington Avenue entrance to the parking lot near Mecha. During the driveway closure, motorists should use the parking lot entrance on LaSalle Road.
  • Work is tentatively scheduled for October 27–29, with the driveway closure, extending through November 2 to allow the concrete to cure.

Phase 8

  • Bring equipment and materials into the work area.
  • Install sidewalk fencing and cones around the active work zone, adjusting fencing as construction progresses.
  • Saw-cut and remove existing asphalt, concrete, and granite curbing.
  • Excavate and install streetlight foundations and underground utility access boxes.
  • Excavate and install soil cells.

Farmington Avenue

October 26

  • Crews are scheduled to mill Farmington Avenue between Main Street and Walden Street. This section will be closed to vehicle traffic during the operation, with a detour to be provided.
  • Roadwork will take place at various locations between Walden Street and Main Street throughout the week. Alternating one-way traffic will be maintained through work zones when possible.

Phase 8

  • Continue removing existing pavement and granite curbing.
  • Excavate and install streetlight foundations and underground utility access boxes.
  • Excavate and install soil cells to support street trees.
  • Prepare for granite curb installation.

Phase 9

  • Reconstruct the concrete driveway apron at the Farmington Avenue entrance to the parking lot near Mecha, tentatively October 27–November 2.
  • The driveway will be closed to all vehicles 24/7 while under construction.
  • Passenger vehicles will enter the parking lot via LaSalle Road during the driveway closure. A temporary loading zone will be established on Farmington Avenue.
  • Install granite curbing.
  • Install and fine-grade the base material.
  • Place concrete.
  • Pave along the curb line.

Additional Information

The Retail Validation Program:

A Reduced Rate Employee Parking Option for Your Staff

As construction progresses, we're working to maximize on-street parking for customers and visitors. To help, we encourage employees to use alternative parking options, including the Town Center Parking Garage, which offers reduced rates for retail and restaurant employees working in the Center.

The Town Center Garage rates are far lower than other options! The rates are $4.50 for up to an 8.5-hour shift and $7 for anything over 8.5 hours.
