Plan Ahead: Construction & Community Updates

The Metropolitan District Commission's (MDC) contractor will be performing sanitary sewer repairs on Farmington Avenue during the weeks of November 3 and November 10. Work will take place in segments between Dale Street and South Main Street. While this activity may cause minor disruptions, the Town and MDC appreciate your patience as we continue these important improvements.

Additionally, on Wednesday, November 5, Gerber Construction is planning to pave LaSalle Road (weather dependent). Please note:

  • Parking on LaSalle Road may be limited in the afternoon from Arapahoe to Farmington.
  • Traffic disruptions are expected:
  • Morning: parking lane along the west side of LaSalle Road from Farmington Avenue to Arapahoe Road
  • Afternoon: LaSalle Road - Arapahoe Road to Ellsworth Road (full width)
  • Traffic control will maintain alternating one-lane traffic along the entire street during paving.
  • Pavement markings will follow soon after and should be completed within a few hours. During this time, parking will be limited on the west side of LaSalle Road and from Arapahoe Road to Ellsworth Road.

We thank the community for your understanding as we continue the West Hartford Center improvements.

As construction progresses, we're working to maximize on-street parking for customers and visitors. To help, we encourage employees to use alternative parking options, including the Town Center Parking Garage, which offers reduced rates for retail and restaurant employees working in the Center.

The Town Center Garage rates are far lower than other options! The rates are $4.50 for up to an 8.5-hour shift and $7 for anything over 8.5 hours.
