--ELEMENTARY MUSIC NEWS--

All students in K4 through 5th grade have been introduced to "Quaver Music.com" this past month!  Our FAP board helped one of our parents (who is a "partner in ed") purchase the program until the Spring of 2017.

Students are able to create an "avatar" to play music games on the site.  All students are excited about this new computer music program.  They are introduced to music concepts in the music classroom and are then able to apply those concepts while in the computer lab or at home.

***

1st grade students performed, "I've Got the Joy" on Wednesday, March 18th.  Students were energetic and excited about their music...which was a little different.  The songs were all made popular by the Christian group, "Go Fish" and featured percussion instruments and voices on the soundtrack.

DVDs of the program may be purchased for $10 each.  Please see Mrs. Martin at the front desk.

***

K3 & K4 students have their Spring program on Tuesday, April 21st @ 8:15 a.m.  The title of their program is, "We Love to Sing".

What's up in Preschool?

Our K3 and K4 Preschool students are always

experiencing something new and exciting!

K3 and K4 students enjoyed spending some special time with their Dads this month.  K4 students had a luncheon in "The Link" overlooking the football field.  They enjoyed hot dogs and nachos while spending time with their "All Star" dads!  K3 students had "Breakfast with Daddy" in their classrooms.  They enjoyed yummy breakfast food and letting their dads  know they were their "Super Hero."  It was a great time celebrating the special men in our lives! What an awesome responsibility God gave Dad's to lead their families to know and follow Christ!  We love our dads!!

St. Patrick and Dr. Seuss?

Mrs. Dorsey's Kindergarten students went all green for St. Patrick's Day and even ate green eggs and ham! Some wonder if there was something in the green eggs and ham that made all the girls in Mrs. Dorsey's class have green hair? Our class had a great time during our Dr. Seuss week and all we can say is-- We love green eggs and ham, oh yes we do. If your willing to try new things,  then you will love them too!

Mathletes Meet the Challenge!

Our second Mental Math Challenge for second semester was held on March 26, 2015. The students did a great job! These challenges are always intense and exciting. The next challenge will be April 16, 2015. See the results of this and previous challenges.

The 2015 Math Olympics was, once again, hosted at ELCA on Wednesday, March 18, and ELCA students performed wonderfully. See the participants and results of the 2015 Math Olympics.

NO GIFT IS TOO SMALL

Top 5 Reasons To Give To The ELCA Fund!

  1. Your donation has an immediate and direct positive impact on our students.
  2. Your donation shows that you are fully behind our mission of Empowering Students To Impact The World For Jesus Christ.
  3. Your donation allows our school to provide that little extra (SMART Boards, Technology enhancements, etc.) that tuition alone does not cover.

  5. Your donation is tax deductible.

Please join the over 42% of our families that have already given to the ELCA Fund this year with a donation of any amount.  You can give on-line at www.elcaonline.org/give or by picking up information and a giving envelope in the front lobby.  Don't miss out on your opportunity this academic year to have an impact on our students, as Every Gift Counts.  Please contact Al Hosford in the ELCA Development Office at (678) 818-1031  with any questions.

Have you considered
DONATING YOUR USED TECHNOLOGY?

If you've recently upgraded your technology and have a tablet or iPad (iPad 2 in particular) in good working condition, it could be of  great benefit to our students. It could also provide tax benefits for you and/or businesses to donate devices to our school. A donation letter for tax purposes will be provided for your donation. You may have the device "cleaned" or our IT service provider, On-Site RIS, will handle this for us prior to our receiving it. Contact Martha Fairley at [email protected] today!
