People to People Student Ambassador
Congratulations to freshman,
Christopher James Goolsby ("C.J.") who was invited and has been selected to participate in the People to People Student Ambassador Program.  This June, C.J. will join other student delegates and travel to England, Ireland and Wales for a two week study abroad program to gain a whole new way of seeing the world, its people, and international events differently.  It's a change that could mean the difference between being passed over by the ideal employer - or a future full of achievement.  C.J. is looking forward to this experience in increasing his global awareness.

NJAHS  NAHS NEWS

The National Jr. Art Honor Society/National Art Honor Society members (Chloe Slafka, Breanna Rogers, Olivia Tinsley, Ashlyn Donaldson, Sara Edge, Katie Southern, and Marissa Klakis) met on April 28 for officer elections.  All members were invited.  These members decided to form an Administrative Board that works together as a team instead of individual officer positions.  Their goal is to have better communication among the members and encourage more members to be active in the Art Honor Society.  They will begin planning activities such as visits to the Benton Village Home for next school year and design back drops for a photo booth for Grandparent's Day in the Fall.   Congratulations to the NJAHS/NAHS Administrative Team!

Our K3 and K4 students enjoyed spending some special time with their Moms this month. K3 classes got all dressed up! Girls wore their pretty dresses, pearls and gloves. Boys wore their
fancy shirts and ties! All enjoyed a special Muffins with Mom Tea. Mrs. Colleen's class enjoyed an outside Picnic with Mom. Mrs. Cindi and Mrs. Gayle's classes enjoyed a special luncheon

Happy Mother's Day to all!
Middle School Advisory Convention Group Visits Regency House
The Middle School Advisory Convention traveled to the Regency House in Decatur last week. Regency House is an independent living center where our students played
board games, billiards, and Wii with the residents. "Probably, the best part is the students visiting with the residents. They listen to veterans' war stories, all about their families,
as well as their life experiences," says leader, Mrs. Jami Covone. The students also served the residents snacks and participated in their exercise circle.

Bus Route Proposal

Based on the interest of current families and projected demand, consideration is being given to offering bus service between our campus and the Conyers area for the 2015-16 academic year. The proposed plan is to pick-up and drop-off at the former Publix parking lot near the intersection of 138/20 (near Wells Fargo, Mellow Mushroom, Sonny's, etc.). The bus will be scheduled to depart from Conyers at 7:00am and depart from ELCA at 5:15pm on normal (full) school days. Expected arrival in Conyers is approximately 5:50pm.  The fee for this service would total $1,500 per school year per student and will reserve a space for both routes.  If you are interested in reserving a spot on this route or have any additional questions please contact the ELCA Admissions Office at (770) 957-2927.

Spring Fling was a HUGE success! We would like to extend a BIG thank you to everyone who helped. From those working behind the scenes helping with t-shirts, armbands, and lining up volunteers to the room parents manning the booths to the middle school and high school students and their parents who helped keep things in order. A special thanks to those courageous students and faculty who braved the elements and took on the dunk tank; it was a cold and rainy day and your participation in the dunk tank was greatly appreciated! Also Mrs. Vicki Martin, thank you for tying up every loose end.

THANK YOU!!!

Lerona James, PTF Spring Fling Chair and the PTF
