Dear Beth Chayim,

I am devastated to see the destruction that has befallen our fair city over the last 24 hours. The extreme windstorm and the subsequent fires are horrific. I have reached out to our members who are in evacuation zones or close and while some of you have had to evacuate, I am beyond grateful that everyone is safe so far. We will continue to monitor this situation as it continues.

Please join me in praying for the safety of every person in Los Angeles; every evacuee, every firefighter, and all of us fearful and concerned.

God of Compassion, hear our prayers. May there be a swift end to this destruction and devastation. May all who evacuate find shelter and safety. May those who walk toward the fire to save people and homes be safe and sheltered. Quell our fears and worries and be a comfort to us.

If you need help or want to talk, please don’t hesitate to be in touch. We will get through this together, taking care of each other as we always do.
