Wishing You a Safe & Joyful Holiday Season!

As the year comes to a close, all of us at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones this holiday season.

This is a time for celebration, connection, and reflection—and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve such a vibrant and supportive community. Together, we’ve made strides toward keeping Washington County the safest urban county in Oregon.

As you enjoy this special time of year, we encourage you to prioritize safety:

  • Plan ahead to avoid impaired driving.
  • Look out for one another.
  • And, as always, buckle up and drive with care.

From our family to yours, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a bright start to the new year.

Connecting Community

On Saturday, November 22, the City of Cornelius, in partnership with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, hosted the Tenth Annual Cornelius Community Dinner. Partners were delighted to serve a free holiday meal to all community members in attendance.

The event was held at Cornelius Elementary School and provided over 400 meals!

The dinner was made possible through the collaboration and generous donations of multiple community partners and wonderful volunteers who contributed to this event’s success.

The chance to share a meal and engage in conversation with fellow community members is what makes the Cornelius Community Dinner a truly special and favorite event for many. It brings people together, providing a sense of warmth and connection during the holiday season.

We look forward to seeing you next year!

Celebrate Decemeber Safely

December is National Impaired Driving Prevention Month

Please remember to make responsible choices during the holidays.

Plan ahead to stay safe:

  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications
  • Use a designated driver or rideshare service
  • Ensure guests leave your gathering with a sober driver
  • Talk to teens about impaired driving and offer them a safe ride
  • Always buckle up

Let’s make this season joyful and safe for everyone!

Lock Car Doors, Bring Valuables In

'Tis the season where we see an uptick in thefts from vehicles.

Whether you call it your 9 p.m. routine or something else, remember to lock your car doors, avoid leaving valuables in plain view, and report any suspicious activity, such as someone checking door handles, to law enforcement.
