Speaker Series: Brother Guy J. Consolmagno, S.J. | March 17 | Members-exclusive Brunch and Lecture: 10:00am - 2:00pm | Public Lecture: 3:00 - 5:30pm

The Institute is thrilled to welcome Brother Guy  J. Consolmagno, S.J., Detroit native and Chief Astronomer and Director at the Vatican’s Observatory! Br. Guy will deliver two dynamic lectures - with one including a members-exclusive meet-and-greet brunch.

Both lectures will explore, “A Vatican Astronomer’s View of Galileo," and Br. Guy’s background as a Jesuit scientist. Examine how Galileo's work challenged, and was challenged by, the science of the day; and how it was shaped by the personal ambitions of the main players in the Church, the political world, and the philosophers of the day.
