Dear Community,
With Governor Pritzker's extension of the stay-at-home order through May 30, the Algonquin Area Public Library buildings will remain closed, and, at this time, we do not have a date for when we anticipate opening the library buildings or drive-thru to our patrons. Your safety and the safety of our staff is the first factor we need to consider before we start up any of our in-person services. Right now, we don't know enough or have enough personal protective equipment (PPE) to trust that we can circulate materials in and out of the library in a way that is safe for everyone handling those materials. We want to get back into the library as much as you want us there, but your health and safety and ours has to come first. Thank you for your understanding.
In the meantime, we have expanded our virtual services and have many resources (books, movies, music, and more!) available through our website 24/7 - no matter if the library is open or closed. See the links below for the upcoming virtual programs being held next week, and watch your email for a new program listing each week. If you need help accessing any of our digital materials, please send us an email through our
Contact Us form
or connect with a staff member on the chat service available through our website and app. We are still here to serve you!
Stay safe and be well.
