Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Strive305 Small Business Initiative and Miami-based BizHack Academy have announced Season 3 of their Digital Marketing Master Class Series focused on how small businesses can use digital marketing to start the new year strong. The Season 3 Master Classes will cover essential topics for small business growth including Content Marketing, Google Business Profile, and Brand Marketing.

Miami Beach Awarded $18.6 Million in Environmental Resilience Grants
The City of Miami Beach has been awarded $18.6 million through the Resilient Florida Grant Program. The awards include $10 million to create a resilient and thriving community in the North Beach Town Center, $7.6 million towards the city’s aging sewer system and $1 million to enhance the dune system along the beach to provide nature-based protection for upland properties.

Miami-Dade District 4 Mom and Pop Small Business Grant
Small business owners in Miami-Dade's District 4 are invited to apply for Commissioner Sally Heyman's Annual Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program.
Applicants may be eligible to receive up to $5,000, depending on the number of applicants, which can be used for purchasing equipment, supplies, inventory, commercial liability insurance, security systems, advertising, marketing, making minor renovations, salaries/wages, and rent/mortgage.
Applications are due by noon on Feb. 18, 2022.

Miami Beach Offers Free Tax Preparation Services
Recognized as a best practice site by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for its fast and reliable tax preparation program, the City of Miami Beach will once again offer free income tax preparation services from Feb. 1 through Apr. 15, 2022 for households earning $57,000 or less and persons with disabilities.
Tax preparation services will be offered Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays via appointment and will be held in person when possible or via a drop-off method. Appointments can be made now through the end of tax season by calling 305.673.7491. Special services are offered to taxpayers with limited English skills or disabilities

KKR Support for Small Business Builders Grant
Created as a key pillar of KKR's COVID-19 Relief Effort, KKR Small Business Builders (SBB) aims to support entrepreneurs and their small businesses around the world. The grants are designed to help business owners sustain their enterprises, maintain or create jobs, and spur economic opportunity as they respond to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and recover from its resultant economic dislocation.

The Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One (SOBEWFF®) is a national, star-studded, four-day destination event showcasing the talents of the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities.

Miami Beach Live! A Celebration of Music, Art and Culture
The City of Miami Beach is proud to unveil Miami Beach Live!, a month-long celebration in March 2022 that will feature a variety of thrilling activations and live events designed to engage all five senses. Every Friday through Sunday from March 1 – March 29, 2022, Miami Beach Live! will host an exciting and diverse lineup of programming in and around Lummus Park and the beachfront areas from 10 to 13 streets.
Locals and visitors will be able to enjoy thematic weekend programming –including Dance, Pop, International, and Symphonic/Broadway– across an array of music, arts, culture, and culinary offerings. Every weekend throughout the month features a Friday night movie, Saturday evening headlining concert, and a Sunday dine-around spotlighting Miami Beach’s best-in-class culinary offerings and prix fixe menus.

Take Care of Our City
The City of Miami Beach needs you to join our Spring Break Safety Campaign. Whether you are a business, a hotel or a cultural center, we want to promote what you have going on during the month of March to our residents and visitors.
The ask is simple – send us a high resolution image of you or your business, your top safety tip for how visitors can enjoy Miami Beach safely, and a list of your top 3-5 things that people must do to enjoy their time in Miami Beach. Our designers will create an image like the one you see above, with a unique QR code that will link out to a web page dedicated just to you and your business. Miami Beach Emergency Small Business Expense Reimbursement Grant - Funding Still Available
Small businesses in Miami Beach are encouraged to apply now for a $20,000 emergency grant for rent, mortgage, utilities, payroll and operating expenses incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic as funding is still available.
The grants are awarded on a first-come, first-qualified basis. Interested businesses may apply here.

Miami Beach Vacant Storefront Cover Program
The City of Miami Beach relaunched the Vacant Storefront Cover Program in a continued effort to improve the appearance of vacant, street-level commercial buildings and support the lease-up of retail spaces throughout the city.
First unveiled in 2019, this initiative supports property owners, brokers, realtors and property managers by wrapping vacant storefront windows free of charge with one of five artistic designs preapproved by the city.

Miami Beach Expedited Plan Review and Permitting Incentive Program
The City of Miami Beach is committed to diversifying the local economy by attracting and retaining targeted industries including financial services and technology.
As part of this effort, the city is also offering an Expedited Plan Review and Permitting Program to incentivize targeted relocations, including expansions and associated development for companies.

The city has finalized the transition to a new financial software system. One of the many new features now available is our online Vendor Self-Service webpage, allowing city vendors to easily update contacts, attachments (W-9) and commodity information. The Vendor Self-Service (VSS) webpage will also provide you with purchase orders and payment information.

COVID-19 TESTING & VACCINATIONS |
COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Site Near City Hall
Nomi Health continues to operate the testing and vaccination site located on the first floor of the Pennsylvania Garage (G9) at 17 Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. The site operates seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. with no appointment necessary. Vaccines are administered until 6 p.m., while testing continues until 7 p.m.
The site is also administering the COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 and offering single booster doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to those eligible to receive them. Nomi Health has opened an additional walk-up testing site at 8400 Collins Ave. This location also operates seven days a week from 8 a.m.to 7 p.m. with no appointment necessary. It offers both rapid and PCR tests.
