Meet CourMed: Miami Beach's Newest Health Care Delivery Service

Convention Center Hotel Project:

Grand Hyatt Miami Beach

After experiencing a delay due to COVID-19, MB Mixed Use Investment, LLC, the developer for the Grand Hyatt Convention Center Hotel, announced that site preparation work will commence by summer. The developer anticipates 30 months of vertical construction after site preparation with the opening expected by fall 2025.

Miami-Dade's Strive305 Small Business Initiative and BizHack Academy to Offer Free Digital Marketing Training in 2022 

Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Strive305 Small Business Initiative and Miami-based BizHack Academy have announced Season 3 of their Digital Marketing Master Class Series focused on how small businesses can use digital marketing to start the new year strong. The Season 3 Master Classes will cover essential topics for small business growth including Content Marketing, Google Business Profile, and Brand Marketing.

Venture Miami Opportunity Program

The City of Miami is having a moment that can turn into sustained and inclusive economic development via the strategic and effective stewardship of new companies and investors. Funded by JP Morgan Chase, FIU is leveraging its existing novel partnership with the City of Miami to create a new program for female business owners of color. The Venture Miami Opportunity Program will provide intensive management and leadership training to participants and will focus on four key areas: talent, technology, social networks and access to capital. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply here.

BUSINESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Miami Beach Emergency Small Business Expense Reimbursement Grant - Funding Still Available

Small businesses in Miami Beach are encouraged to apply now for a $20,000 emergency grant for rent, mortgage, utilities, payroll and operating expenses incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic as funding is still available.

 

The grants are awarded on a first-come, first-qualified basis. Interested businesses are encouraged to apply here.

Miami Beach Vacant Storefront Cover Program

The City of Miami Beach relaunched the Vacant Storefront Cover Program in a continued effort to improve the appearance of vacant, street-level commercial buildings and support the lease-up of retail spaces throughout the city.


First unveiled in 2019, this initiative supports property owners, brokers, realtors and property managers by wrapping vacant storefront windows free of charge with one of five artistic designs preapproved by the city.

Miami Beach Expedited Plan Review and Permitting Incentive Program

The City of Miami Beach is committed to diversifying the local economy by attracting and retaining targeted industries including financial services and technology.


As part of this effort, the city is also offering an Expedited Plan Review and Permitting Program to incentivize targeted relocations, including expansions and associated development for companies.

Miami Beach Job Creation Incentive Program (JCIP)

The City of Miami Beach is offering the Job Creation Incentive Program (JCIP), a performance-based incentive adopted by the City Commission. The program aims to strategically attract new financial services companies and technology firms while helping existing businesses expand in Miami Beach to increase the number of high-wage jobs.

Pop-Up Venue Permit

Pop-up venues are temporary retail spaces that can be used to promote and sell products of all types, ranging from food and beverages, clothing or unique gifts. The concept has the potential for low overhead, low risk and is a great way to introduce yourself to the market, generate buzz, increase sales and extend the reach and exposure of your business. Uber Eats and Visa Grant Program

Uber Eats and Visa are introducing Grants for Growth, a new grant program that provides $1 million in grants to small businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19, hurricanes, natural disasters and other unexpected events. Through the program, Uber Eats will provide $10,000 grants to 100 Uber Eats member restaurants in 10 key markets: Boston, Philadelphia, Bay Area, NYC Metro/New Jersey, Los Angeles, Miami, Washington DC, Chicago, Atlanta and Detroit. LISC will administer the selection and distribution of grants.


If your restaurant has been affected by the pandemic, kick start the new year by applying for a $10,000 grant to support expenses such as:​ payroll, vendor payments, rent, utilities, or technology updates.

Become A Registered City of Miami Beach Vendor

The city has finalized the transition to a new financial software system. One of the many new features now available is our online Vendor Self-Service webpage, allowing city vendors to easily update contacts, attachments (W-9) and commodity information. The Vendor Self-Service (VSS) webpage will also provide you with purchase orders and payment information.

COVID-19 TESTING & VACCINATIONS

COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Site Near City Hall

Nomi Health continues to operate the testing and vaccination site located on the first floor of the Pennsylvania Garage (G9) at 17 Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. The site operates seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with no appointment necessary. Vaccines are administered until 6 p.m., while testing continues until 9 p.m.


The site is also administering the COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 and offering single booster doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to those eligible to receive them. Nomi Health has opened an additional walk-up testing site at 8400 Collins Ave. This location also operates seven days a week from 8 a.m.to 7 p.m. with no appointment necessary. It offers both rapid and PCR tests.
