Stay home with the Belmont Public Library
March 27, 2020 | Special Edition
New & coming soon
We're exploring ways to bring expanded collections and resources to you online.

We're highlighting daily recommendations to read or watch on Libby, hoopla, or Kanopy — but you can also find your next favorite read here .

We're working with some of your favorite performers and special guests to offer virtual programs and events that you can enjoy from home. Stay tuned!
For kids, teens, and all ages
  • Dance and sing at this mini concert with Belmont favorite Matt Heaton
  • Enjoy storytime online with songs and stories with Deb — new videos on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
  • Play or DM Dungeons and Dragons online — interested teens, read this!
  • Watch documentaries, award-winning films, educational TV shows, and storytime videos on Kanopy and Kanopy Kids
  • Learn to research your family history on HeritageQuest, read magazines on RBDigital, and follow the news in the Boston Globe in these quick how-to videos (more tutorials coming soon!)
Connect with comics
While Belmont Library Comic Con is postponed, we want to showcase the amazing artwork of our comic artist guests.

Both Maria Photinakis and Beth Barnett are capturing their experiences with social distancing during COVID-19, and will be talking with us about creating and sharing visual diaries in a video coming next week. Click below to follow their journals.

Cartoonist and art educator Cara Bean is posting short daily videos to promote creativity and doodling. Watch Bean Doodling Workshop to follow along from home! Drawing is good for the mind, good for the soul, and great for parents looking for something to do with their kids.
Care Packages at the library
Brown paper bags with genre labels in colorful marker and notes saying "Belmont Library Care Packages"
If you see a paper bag on the front steps of the library, it's a Care Package from Belmont Library staff with books for YOU.

On sunny days and while supplies last, we'll leave these Care Packages outside the library. You can take a bag and keep it forever!

Bags are first come, first served. Please remain at least 6 feet away from other visitors.
