Jeremiah 29:10-14 NIV
This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
Unison Prayer

Everliving God,
your eternal Christ once dwelt on earth,
confined by time and space.Give us faith to discern in every time and place
 the presence among us
of him who is head over all things and fills all,
even Jesus Christ our ascended. Lord. Amen
Call to Worship:
L: Today is Ascension Sunday when we celebrate Christ’s return to God.
P: We look up in wonder as he is lifted from us into heaven!
L: But this is not a time to gaze upward. There is work to be done.
P: Jesus has entrusted the ministry of God’s love to us.
L: Let’s get to work!
P: Let’s make our hearts ready for the task ahead with prayer and praise!
L: Amen

Lauris Prinsen and Pastor Jen attended the Annual Conference earlier this week. In the coming weeks, they will offer their thoughts on this year's meeting during the church service.
Overall, the attitude was very hopeful!

Covid Updates

We have not spoken much about Covid lately. Sadly, it has been circulating among people in our church community and families. We should still take reasonable precautions and exercise common sense to keep each other safe. If you feel sick, stay home! Please get tested if your symptoms warrant. If you are not sure of your Covid status, better safe than sorry, masks are still helpful in many situations.

How Minnesotans can get a COVID-19 test

The free test offer is very convenient and quick! I ordered mine and received them in less than a week!

Rummage Sale?

At the recent meeting of the Grace Administrative Council, the subject of the Annual Rummage Sale was discussed. The sale has been a long-standing tradition, community outreach, and fundraiser for Grace Church.
Everyone agreed that it was a great plan to hold a sale again this year.
However, before anything can be put into motion, someone needs to come forward to provide the leadership necessary for a successful sale. If this is something that YOU might be interested in doing, please talk to Don Catchpool, Laurie Prinsen, or Larry Johnson (past leadership) for more information.

On Sunday, May 22, Don spoke in church about this opportunity to serve. Please give this some thought and prayer as to whether or not this is something that you are called to do.
We will have to decide in the next few weeks whether a sale is happening or not.
If you have ideas around another fundraiser for the church to due in lieu of a sale, please reach out to Pastor Jen.

We will be recognizing all of our 2022 graduates during the worship service on May 29th. Please join us as we offer prayers and enjoy cake after the service.

Memorial Day

Monday, Memorial Day, the church office and building wil be closed.

We encourage everyone who is able to attend a local Memorial Day observance or program. There are many, and all add meaning and honor to this day.
Pastor Jen and Brad Wallace will be taking part in the program at the Nissan American Legion at noon.
Are you looking to Go deeper, or to grow deeper in your faith?

We have a few groups meeting currently. The office can direct you to more information if needed.

Groups currently meeting include:
--Women's book study, "Good Enough", Monday nights at 6
–Bible study, Tuesdays at 9am, focuses on the scriptures to be used in Sunday’s worship service
--Adult Bible Study--every other Wednesday at 6pm. They are currently finishing up a study of the Ten Commandments. All are welcome, and the study is not built upon the studies of the previous session.
—Men’s study—Thursdays at 730am, study and fellowship

If you have an idea for a study, please speak to me (Pastor Jen). I would love to support another group!
Youth Group and
Confirmation Notes

Our Youth Group had an outdoor party with games, a bonfire, and of course s’mores! We invited some extra friends, and it was a fun night!
Families, watch their newsletter and your emails for special nights to have fun this summer!

Confirmation parents, please let Pastor Jen know soon if we can make June 5th work our last class.

Special Invitation from the women’s group at the Pine RIver UMC:

“Please join us on Tuesday, June 7th, for a luncheon beginning at noon. Please arrive closer to 11:30, to the Fellowship Hall in the lower level of church. Following the luncheon there will be an informative program.”

Reservations requested for planning purposes. Please contact Patti Erickson before Tuesday, May 31 (phone #320-267-5950), if you plan to attend this event.
There will be an Executive Board Meeting in the library, at 9am on Thursday June 2nd.

The larger program for June will take place on Sunday June 26th during our 9am worship service. We will welcome a professional “storyteller” who will portray Susannah Wesley. Her story will highlight how her faith influenced her sons, John and Charles Wesley. We will celebrate with cake together after the service in the Fellowship Hall. UMW members and friends please watch for more details as we get closer to the end of June.
Good news!
The issues with our live stream have been resolved. You can watch our Sunday worship service in real time by going to our website. You can still watch it any time after this by viewing the recorded service through the website as well, or with the link provided on our Facebook page on Sunday mornings.
If you have something that should be added to this newsletter from your group or mission, please speak with Pastor Jen or email the details to her at The E-Grace is generally completed by noon on Thursdays, so articles need to be given to me by Thursday morning at the very latest.

If you wish to connect with me directly and it is not an emergency, please know that I will respond as needed during pretty regular office hours. I am in the church most weekdays from at least 10-1. Ann has my detailed schedule and can find me if needed.
