"I vote because politics are personal. If politicians at any level of government are going to make decisions about my life and the community I love, I want to do everything in my power as a citizen to make sure those are good decisions.”

MIDGE and the BUTCHER

IOYS is collaborating with Springs Ensemble Theatre surrounding their performance of "Midge and the Butcher", a play featuring a trans teen navigating identity and relationships. We have 20 tickets for young people to attend the performance on October 8 at 2 pm. There will be a free poetry workshop on Oct. 8th, before the performance at 12:30 p.m.

MIDGE and the BUTCHER is a play written by Quinn Smola, a local trans young adult, as a love letter to trans youth everywhere. Join us in celebrating local theater and local trans talent!

The story: Midge, a recently out trans teen, has been having some troubles with a former-friend-turned-bully. With school about to start and no clear allies, Midge does the only thing she can think of to make sure she has protection, she summons a demon from Hell, hoping to make a deal. Xantheus the Butcher enters her life, and hilarity, horror, and heart ensue.
