B&A Trail Marathon & Half-Marathon recap
Sunday, March 29th, 2026
Another year in the books for our annual B&A Trail Marathon & Half-Marathon! And it was a successful running, with 320 marathoners and 542 half-marathoners crossing the finish line on March 29th in sunny & temperate conditions. As usual, a good crowd of volunteers came out to support Tom Lyden’s race directing efforts, and we appreciate all the help! If you’d like to get more involved in next year’s B&A event, e-mail Tom or talk to him at a future Striders event.
The marathon saw a tight race up front, with Severna Park’s own Alan Kasmer holding onto the lead with an outstanding 2:34:10 finish, just 32 seconds ahead of runner-up Ryan Fan of Pikesville. Pennsylvania’s Grace Bucich represented the Navy Marathon Team well by capturing the women’s victory in 3:21:10, less than a minute ahead of Masters winner Fernanda Scalera of Bradenton, Florida. Severna Park’s Orion Boylston (2:44:27) and Pasadena’s Julia Reynolds (3:52:06) were our top Striders marathoners.
The marathon team also saw half-marathon success, as Joshua Byun (1:14:18) kept ahead of Masters champ Adam Driscoll of Catonsville (1:14:47) to take the men’s half win. Meaghan Murray of Baltimore crushed the women’s field in 1:23:20, over two minutes ahead of the next female finisher. Tops among club members was either Martin Shpuntoff or Mark Huskey, depending on whether you go with gun time (Martin crossed the line in 1:24:40 with Mark one second behind) or chip time (with Mark’s chip time being four seconds faster than Martin’s)! New board member Eva Henry led all Striders women in an impressive 1:29:36.
Full B&A results are up on both Maryland Timing’s site and RunSignup, and Enduro Photos’ finisher shots are up as well, available for download at no cost. Can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
