President's Message:

I’m honored and excited to serve as the new President of the FPA of Michigan. This organization has been an important part of my professional journey, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to a chapter that consistently strengthens and elevates the financial planning profession across our state.

Michigan is home to an exceptional community of planners—spanning firm sizes, business models, and career stages. One of my priorities this year is to continue fostering a culture of collaboration, education, and connection that makes FPA of Michigan a valuable home for every member.

A cornerstone of that commitment is our Annual Symposium, which remains one of the premier educational and networking events for financial planners in Michigan. We’re excited about what’s in store for this year, and more details on speakers, location, and registration will be shared soon. I encourage you to keep an eye out for those announcements and plan to join us.

Equally important is our investment in the future of the profession through our NexGen initiatives. By supporting students, career changers, and early-career planners through mentorship, targeted programming, and leadership opportunities, we are helping ensure a strong and vibrant future for financial planning in Michigan.

As we look ahead, I encourage you to attend one of our upcoming events—and bring a colleague with you. Whether it’s a symposium session, a local gathering, or a NexGen event, your participation strengthens our community. Get involved, join the conversation, share your perspective, and help shape the direction of our chapter. We are at our best when we learn from one another, and we are stronger together.

Thank you for your engagement, your volunteerism, and your commitment to ethical, client-centered financial planning. I look forward to connecting with many of you throughout the year.

Warm regards,

Nick Nauta, CFP®

President, FPA of Michigan
