If you have any suggestions, or would like to contribute, please contact us. This week, we focus on a sweet grain-free treat, essential oils, schedule updates, and hear from Amy Anderson on how she found her fire within to become a yoga instructor. For centuries, shamans and healers used essential oils to cleanse, purify, and cure.
Believed to enhance visualization, focus, and meditation, essential oils have a variety of benefits in today's world.
Often, you are welcomed to The Fire Within Yoga with calming scents to enrich your experience. Here are some suggestions of oils and blends that may help you fine-tune your practice:
For strengthening and centering: sandalwood, cedarwood, myrrh, frankincense
To promote breath awareness and clear breathing: peppermint, basil, eucalyptus, rosemary, myrrh, frankincense, cardamom
For calming: lavender, geranium, chamomile, vetiver

Meet Amy Anderson, Yoga instructor

"Yoga allows you to find a new kind of freedom that you may not have known even existed." BKS Iyengar
I started practicing yoga at the local gym about 14 years ago. After a tough life transition in 2013, I decided to focus on deepening my practice. Yoga allows me the time and space to give back to my body and build strength mentally, emotionally, and physically. After getting a taste of leading yoga practice while subbing for another instructor, I pursued and received my Yoga Teacher Certification in July 2016. I am inspired to share the empowering benefits of yoga to all students, regardless of shape, size, or level of ability.
I believe that no matter your age, size or weight, yoga is for every BODY. Yoga is not for the flexible. It's for the willing.
Sometimes referred to as the "hold nazi" due to my commitment to poses, I encourage all yogi's to continue to perfect their practice and try new things. My favorite pose is Sirsasana Headstand. I'm is also passionate about Young Living Essential Oils and the benefits of aromatherapy.
Visit me when I teach Mindful Movement on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as Thursday night Power Vinyasa Yoga.
