Influenza:

The flu bug has been making its way around school (both students and staff). Symptoms include, but are not limited to,

  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Sweats

These symptoms can come on suddenly and linger for a few days. If your child has symptoms, please keep them home and monitor them closely. Students must be symptom and fever-free, without medication, for 24 hours before returning to school. If your child needs medication to make it through the day, please keep them home. We are trying to keep everyone as healthy as we can during these cold winter months.

Please remember…

  • If your student is out ill, call the office or send Mrs. Schuh an email to let her know.
  • If your child will be late, please contact Mrs. Schuh so she can record the late arrival and order a lunch if needed.
  • If your child visits the doctor for their illness, please request an excused absence form and turn it in to the office for our attendance records.

PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident:

The Archdiocese notified us of a security breach involving the database (PowerSchool) our school uses for staff, parent, and student information. This was a nationwide security breach. St. Gabriel uses PowerSchool for student/staff demographic information (information on the registration form) and student medical information (vaccines and allergies). We do not enter any social security numbers or banking information. It is not used for tuition payments or payroll. Please see the information below that was provided to us by the Archdiocese.

MARRC NEWS

IN THE CLASSROOMS

Middle School

Our middle schoolers continue to embrace rhythm. Last week parents were invited to learn to Salsa with thier kids! In Spanish, they continue to dive into the Puerto Rican culture.

What a fantastic way to connect the arts, blending music, dance, and culture with education.

Watch a short 1-minute video of the students and parents in action - HERE

5-K

For President's Day on Monday, our 5-K scholars made tricorn hats like George Washington wore!! Great job, kids!

St. Gabriel Spirit Groups in Action!

Our Spirit Groups gathered to reflect on love this month—both worldly love and the unconditional love of God. They learned earthly love is often based on feelings and personal preference, while Godly love is sacrificial—choosing to love others selflessly. True love isn’t just about feelings; it’s about action—helping others and reflecting God’s unconditional love.

After our discussion, students created beautiful Valentine’s Day cards to share joy and encouragement with our homebound parishioners.

These small acts of kindness remind us that love is meant to be shared!

Forensics Club News:

St. Gabriel Forensics had a great meet at Central Middle School last Friday!

All 9 students earned blue ribbons! We are so proud of every single student!

🥇Sam and Kaiden won Gold in Infomercial

🥉Everett won a Bronze in Newscasting- his first medal!

We have two more meets before State and are very excited to see the growth in this team!

Congratulations!
