2025-2026 Registration:

Please make sure you reserve seats for the 2025-2026 school year. Registration has begun and there has been much interest in our school from new families. We already have 73 students registered. Classes may fill up quickly. Take advantage of the $250 per student (max $1,000) early registration discount by registering now. The early registration discount ends Monday, March 31.

The form has links to the tuition information and a link to pay the $200 registration fee. Your registration is not complete until the fee is paid. The $200 fee will be deducted from your tuition bill. Please use the link below to register your children.

Also, review the other tuition-reducing programs listed on the form and consider getting involved by volunteering, becoming a member of one of our amazing committees, and/or joining us for one of our energetic school or athletic events. Check out all the opportunities on iVolunteer, and/or visit our school website. We are excited that our St. Gabriel family is growing and hope that your family continues to be a part of all we have to offer.

2025-2026 Staff Update:

Planning has begun for the 2025-2026 school year. Part of this process includes determining staffing needs. It has been brought to our attention that the following teachers/staff will not be returning. Consequently, we will begin a search to fill these positions. We wish all of these staff members the best and thank them for their hard work and dedication to our school/parish.

  • K4 Teacher - Mrs. Skowbo: Retiring after 14 years at St. Gabriel.
  • K5 Teacher - Mrs. Piotrowski: Retiring after 16 years at St. Gabriel.
  • Spanish/ Middle School Math Teacher - Sr. Therese Marie Yank: Has been assigned, by her community, to a position in Germany.
  • K4 Aide (Thurs/Fri) - Mrs. Collins: Stepping aside from this position but will continue to be a substitute teacher for us.
  • ASLP Director - Deb Erdmann: Will continue to teach middle school but will not be leading the after-school program next year.

A long-term substitute teacher is needed to begin the school year in 2nd grade for Mrs. Schmidt, who will be on maternity leave.

Winter MAP Test Results:

We have completed our winter MAP testing. Please see the results below. The data gathered from these tests are used to drive classroom instruction and develop RtI support for those students in need. The next testing session will be in spring.

Beginning of Lent:

Yesterday, Wednesday, March 5th, marked the beginning of the Lenten season. Our students gathered Tuesday afternoon to bury the Alleluia. Wednesday morning we gathered for Mass. The Superintendent of the Archdiocese, Ed Foy, joined us for Mass and then toured our school.

Student Absences:

Please remember…

  • If your student is out ill or has an appointment, call the office or send Mrs. Schuh an email to let her know.
  • If your child will be late, please contact Mrs. Schuh so she can record the late arrival and order a lunch if needed.
  • If your child visits the doctor for an illness or an appointment, please request an excused absence form and turn it in to the office for our attendance records.
  • Please see the Compulsory School Attendance policy (5112) for more information regarding student absences and truancies.

Drop-Off/Pick-up Line Reminders:

Supervision begins outside at 7:40 a.m. each morning. The doors open for students to go down to their classrooms at 7:50 a.m. All students are expected to be in their classrooms ready for the day by 8 a.m. If they are not, they are considered tardy. Any students entering the building after 8 a.m. need to stop in the office to order their lunch.

Here are just a few reminders to keep everyone safe and the lines moving efficiently.

  • Pull all the way up to the end of the sidewalk, or to the car in front of you, before your students exit the car.
  • The first 2 spots in the carline, beyond the sidewalk, are for our “skip the line” auction winners. Please do not stop in these spots. Only stop at the orange cones.
  • Please do not exit your vehicles. If you arrive between 7:40 - 7:50 in the morning, there will be a staff member present to help students exit cars on the passenger side. In the afternoon, there will be a staff member at each cone to help students enter vehicles. We do not want anyone walking between cars at any time.
  • Please pull around to the church parking lot to buckle your children in their car seats. Do not do this while still in the car line.
  • If your child will not be going home their usual way (e.g., either going to a friend's house, someone else picking them up, not taking a bus that they normally take home), a note or phone call from a parent is required with these special instructions. If it is a last-minute change, please make sure you call and speak to someone since an email may not be seen in time if sent at the end of the day. We must have parent confirmation of any change in student pick-up at the end of the school day, either via email or phone conversation with the school office staff.

Teachers will not keep a student after school without making arrangements with parents first. Students are to leave school grounds promptly after dismissal. The school assumes no responsibility for children who do not go directly home or who stay on the school grounds without proper supervision after school.

IN THE CLASSROOMS

Music & Art Class

Last week, our students combined music and art to deepen their understanding of U.S. regions! In music class, they wrote songs to teach one another about the states and capitals within their assigned region.

Meanwhile, in art, each student decorated a state with symbols and images that represent its unique characteristics, making it easier to remember.

The week culminated in a lively performance, with students playing instruments and singing their original songs for their classmates — a creative and memorable way to learn geography!

4th Grade

Our fourth-grade scientists recently explored the fascinating process of chemical weathering! Using a mild acid, they tested how it affected four different types of rocks. Through careful observation, they discovered which rocks were more resilient and which ones broke down more easily. It was an exciting hands-on experiment that brought geology to life right in the classroom!

Middle School STEM Superstars!

Huge congratulations to Kaiden, Tommy, and Tucker for placing 1st overall and 1st in Design/Creativity at the STEM Challenge hosted by Catholic Memorial High School — earning 2 medals!

Shoutout to Kendal, Leighton, and Vivien for securing 2nd place, just 1 foot behind the top spot!

"They were given about 10, 15 materials – from paper plates to popsicle sticks, rubber bands – and they had to carry 10 Tootsie rolls the farthest," senior student leader Mary Grace Bohne said of this year's challenge.

With 70 teams from 21 Catholic schools, our students truly shined!

A heartfelt thank you to Catholic Memorial High School for organizing this amazing event, our outstanding Middle School Science Teacher, Mrs. Wasserman for her unwavering support, and our incredible parent volunteer drivers and chaperones. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Fire Safety Poster Contest

We are thrilled to celebrate our two talented students who shined in the 2024-2025 Fire Safety Poster Contest!

For the past few years, our students have shared their creativity by illustrating ways to stay safe from fires. This year set a record with 900 entries — and we’re proud to announce that two of our students were selected as winners!

Congratulations to:

  • Leona (1st Grade)
  • Charlotte (5th Grade)

Both received 2nd place for their grade, with their artwork beautifully framed and a gift card from the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation.

A huge thank you to the foundation for inspiring students to prioritize safety and supporting young artists and to Mrs. Schulteis for organizing this for our students.
