32nd Annual Bidwell Park & Chico Creeks Cleanup
This Saturday at 9 AM, hundreds of community volunteers and groups will meet at Hooker Oak Recreation Area to start a day of local watershed clean up that will amount to literal TONS of man-made waste being removed from our local creeks and parks. It is crucial that we do our part to help these vulnerable riparian ecosystems. We are looking forward to working alongside you this year!

A special thank you to those who have registered as volunteer event staff this year, you all are helping in a huge way to make this possible!
There is still time to register.
Please stick around after the event for a volunteer appreciation BBQ hosted by Madison Bear Garden from 1 - 3 PM at Hooker Oak . *Vegan options available.
Thank you to our 2019 Cleanup Sponsors! This event would not be possible without their ongoing support. We are proud to serve this community!

If you are unable to attend this year and still want to support the Cleanup... please consider becoming a “Friend of the Cleanup.”  In addition to making this annual event possible, your contribution will allow us to continue bringing the community together to protect the land, air, and water of Butte County in many ways.

In light of Global Climate Action Week , OM Foods will be hosting an all-day fundraiser for BEC, next Wednesday, Sept. 25th! B.E.C. Program Updates
R.A.R.E. Offers Vermi-Composting
Since the start of the school year in August, RARE has already been to 21 K-12 classrooms with interactive presentations! Along with the importance of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.. RARE focuses on ROT. We want students to know how our society handles man-made waste, but perhaps more importantly, how nature recycles its own nutrients by composting.
Click here to schedule a workshop today or email RARE@becnet.org for more information from Julia!
Oak Restoration Program
Did you know you can volunteer to help us water native oak seedlings in Bidwell Park every Sunday? Meet us at the North Rim Trail parking lot at 9 AM, until the first week of October and learn about our Oak Restoration Program while helping us water.
