Guam's Primary Election voting takes place on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Guam goes to the polls with record number of registered voters

A record number of voters are eligible to cast their ballots and decide who stays and who goes in this Saturday's primary election. The unofficial count of registered voters as of Thursday was upwards of 58,000, according to Guam Election Commission Executive Director Maria Pangelinan.

Japan's travel restrictions to ease, welcome news for Guam tourism

Japanese visitors have been slow to return to Guam in the wake of COVID-19, but the easing of travel restrictions there by next month may put some wind in the local tourism market's sails. By early September, those entering Japan won't need to submit a negative PCR test, provided they have at least one booster shot, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced Wednesday.

Report: Guam unemployment rate down; workers still needed

Guam's unemployment rate is the lowest it has been since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the most recent report issued by the Guam Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics. Unemployment fell to 5.1% in March, significantly lower when compared to the 16.5% reported for the same time last year.

The Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association (GHRA) is proud to relaunch its free training and certification programs through the Guam Economic Development Authority’s Qualifying Certificate Community Contribution (QCCC) Grant Program for Series 3 and Series 5, which was funded by the Guam Regional Medical City as the Qualifying Certificate Community Contributor. The free training and mentorship programs are aimed to provide restaurants and food trucks with the skills needed to expand and sustain operations.
