Dear Family in Christ,
Continued Good News in the Life of Christ here at St. Mary's!
What a beautiful service we had here on Sunday for our Celebration of New Ministry and the Feast of St. James. Seeing the church filled with people who love and support our ministry brought great joy to us all. One could not come away feeling anything but the excitement in the Holy Spirit.

I received many emails and phone calls from attendees who were overjoyed to witness such a service and be a part of our worship. Thank you from the very depths of my being for all your love and support, and to the many who took part in preparing, setting up, worship, serving, and clean up, I THANK YOU!!! Together we raised $1200.00 for C.A.R.A, the Coalition Against Rape, and Abuse which is located here in Cape May County. Thank You!
If you haven't heard Father Marshall's sermon, I would highly suggest you take the time to watch and inwardly digest or maybe you'd like to watch it again. His message reached deeply into our hearts and spirits and challenges us as we move forward.
As for current events, many have seen and are asking about the Diocese's new masking recommendations which state as of "July 27, 2021, due to the rising levels of infections of COVID-19, the RRR Task Force is recommending congregations return to requiring face masks that fully cover the nose and mouth for indoor activities for all worship attendees and outside group participants immediately, regardless of vaccination status, in counties where the infection rate is more than 5 per 100K."
As of today, our infection rate has not exceeded 5. You may feel free to wear a mask if you so choose, but you are not required to do so at this time.
We will keep watch on the rate and I will continue to engage with you on your level of comfort and/or concern as we move forward.
See you all Sunday!
Blessings,
Mo. Allison+

Organ Concert with Reception
Date: August 22nd
Time: TBD
I was raised in Pittsgrove Township, New Jersey where I attended Schalick High School. After high school, I attended the former Cumberland County College, now Rowan College of South Jersey - Cumberland, as well as Rowan University where I earned my Associate and Bachelor's degrees in Music. This coming Fall I will earn my Master's in Organ Performance from Rowan. I have had the pleasure of studying with Dr. Gordon Turk who is the organist at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove as well as St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Wayne, PA. I have formerly served Central United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church, both of Bridgeton, New Jersey. In 2017 I accepted the Director of Music position at the First United Methodist Church of Avalon which I currently serve. In addition to working in Avalon, I am the Choral Director of the Rowan College of South Jersey - Cumberland Choir which is a volunteer chorus of about 25-30 community members and students.
I have always had a deep connection with sacred music and the way in which we connect with it. Music in combination with sacred texts and literature can create moments of peace, understanding, inspiration, and dedication, all of which combine with the spoken word to create a unified, uplifting, and inspiring service. I like to use a variety of organ literature, hymn arrangements, and choral repertoire to expose listeners and participants to new music as well as music that is familiar and beloved.
I am extremely grateful for the abundance of support from both the Avalon Methodist Church and St. Mary's as we look forward to working together in co-ministry on Seven-Mile Island. I am eager to learn the traditions of St. Mary's in music and service and hopefully work together to create new ones as well. I am excited to meet more members of the St. Mary's congregation and to be working with Mother Allison as we navigate these waters together.
Thank you so much, and again, beautiful Installation Service on Sunday!
Talk soon,
Kyle

Share the Lord
The model for evangelization is this: Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, accept Christ willingly into your life; allow Christ to live and grow and to transform you; then share the Lord wherever God has placed you in this world.

Thursdays on the Lawn and Worship at the Beach
|
|
Our summer concert series continues with C. Lynne Smith, singer, songwriter, musician, on August 5th.
A little about her - "If Patsy Cline, Melissa Etheridge & Janis Joplin had a child she would be it. Her soulful vocals and intricate guitar playing compliment her thoughtful lyrics. C. Lynne's style ranges from Country to Folk, Rock and Beyond. This multi-instrumentalist hails from Pennsylvania and New Jersey."
Three and One will return to wrap up Thursdays on the Lawn on August 12.
Bring a chair, bring some friends, and plan to join us on the front lawn 7:30 to 9, this summer!
A sign up sheet to help with refreshments can be found on the parish hall bulletin board or contact Cheryl Barton (908)334-5772 or Dina Ziemba at ziels@comcast.net.
Our Saturday service has moved from the church to the beach for the summer months. "Come as you are" to Worship at the Beach on the 101st St. Beach Pavilion, Saturdays at 5:30 pm through August 28th. Plan to join us for a relaxed worship service in a glorious setting! Guitarist Tom Werkheiser adds his wonderful music to our worship experience.
In the event of rain, concerts and worship are held in the church.

Many spots are available on the altar flower chart. If you would like to place flowers on the altar, please sign up on the chart in the church narthex, or contact the church office. It's a wonderful way to remember a loved one. The flowers may be taken from the altar after the service.
