"Simon son of John, do you love me?"
Warm Eastertide greetings to one and all!
As we listen to the Gospel this Sunday, I encourage you to put yourselves in Peter's shoes, to allow yourselves to be recipients of unconditional love. Especially where we have been broken or hurt by life's events. Jesus never gives up on us. His love for us has no limits or conditions - like the way he loved Peter, who denied Him three times but was brought back into God's fold so that he could have a fruitful ministry serving the Lord. So as we celebrate the Easter season with its promise of new life and abundant mercy, let us give thanks for the blessings from our loving God who does not condemn but loves all his children unconditionally -- regardless of what we've done! Then allow ourselves to follow in Christ's way and forgive ourselves and one another.
Blessings in Christ,
Mo. Allison+

It's happening!
This Saturday, at 10:00 am, we are gathering together to plant a memorial garden in the back of the Mary Garden. This special addition to the Mary Garden will be a place of rest and remembrance for our loved ones. A place that cultivates new life.
Come and take part in this special day. You may offer seeds, bulbs, or your leftover Easter plants or take part in the planting of flowers and plants we have.
If you are not quite the Gardner, but would like to be a part of the fellowship, AWESOME... Come on by, cheer on the Gardners and have some lunch! Mo. Allison will grill up some burgers, hot dogs, and yummy treats too! Come and enjoy!
All are invited!

A parable with a premise...

Parable with a Premise Copy to Clipboard

In olden times a man went out into the woods and encountered the amazing presence of God. He made a vow to carve a wooden memorial in honor of God’s love. But tiredness, cold weather, and other difficulties got the better of him, so he used the wood he had intended to use for the memorial for a fire. Only a tiny bit of wood was left for the memorial for God. Sadly, the memorial was so tiny, it could not be seen above the weeds and bushes.
The point of the tale is that our promises, vows and gifts to God should come first, not after we have used our best gifts for our own comforts. Similarly, 500 years before Christ, the prophet Malachi was upset because he saw many Jews were not honoring God as they had vowed to do. If they offered grain it was polluted. Animals offered to God were blind, sick or lame. The people were giving the worst of their possessions to God, while keeping the best for themselves.
It is not right to give God our leftovers; taking the best of our possessions for ourselves and giving God the least. When we engender the spirit of giving we are benefiting our spiritual health. Such health enables us to have blessings beyond all we could ever imagine. Offering our best to God brings joys everlasting.
Prayer: Dear God, please guide us in the way we live, serve and give. And may all of our deeds be for your glory. Amen.
