Beloved in Christ,

By the time you read this, we will be standing at the foot of the cross.

Good Friday has a way of quieting us. It asks us to slow down, to witness, to feel what we would rather turn away from. It places before us the raw truth of suffering, of injustice, of love poured out even when the world rejects it. Today, we do not rush past this. We do not skip ahead.

And yet, even here, especially here, we dare to speak of Easter.

Because Easter is not separate from this moment. It is born from it.

Resurrection is not a denial of suffering. It is God’s answer to it.

It is easy to proclaim “Alleluia” when life feels light and hopeful. It is something else entirely to hold hope while standing in the shadow of the cross. And yet, this is our calling as Easter people, not to ignore the pain of the world, but to trust that death does not have the final word.

We know the weight of Good Friday in our own lives. We have known grief that feels unbearable, losses that do not make sense, moments when the world seems to unravel. We have seen suffering on a scale that troubles the soul. We have asked hard questions. We have wondered where God is in the midst of it all.

And still, we come.

We come to the cross not because we understand it, but because we trust the One who hangs upon it. We come because we have seen glimpses of resurrection before. In love that refuses to die. In mercy that rises again. In courage that shows up when we thought we had none left.

Easter does not erase Good Friday. It transforms it.

The tomb will be empty, yes. But the wounds remain. The risen Christ still bears them. They are no longer marks of defeat, but signs of love that endured. This is our hope, not that suffering never existed, but that it is not the end of the story.

And so, even now, on this solemn day, I offer you an Easter promise.

Light will return.

Love will rise.

Life will have the final word.

Whatever cross you are carrying, whatever grief you are holding, whatever fear lingers in your heart, know this, God is not finished. The story is still unfolding.

Stay close. Stay present. Stay open.

Because resurrection is already on its way.

A Blessed and Holy Easter to you all. May the hope of the risen Christ meet you exactly where you are, and gently lead you into new life.

With love and prayers,

Mo. Allison+

The Gospel According to Rosie: Lessons in Love, Trust, and Becoming

What if the greatest spiritual teacher you ever met didn't speak a single word?

When Rev. Allison Burns-LaGreca opened her home to Rosie, her son’s guarded and watchful cat, she expected a temporary houseguest. What she found instead was a three-month masterclass in the holy art of being. Rosie didn’t offer affection on demand or respond to the frantic pace of modern life. She waited. She watched. And in her quiet presence, she began to reveal the Gospel in a way no sermon ever could.

Through a series of lived parables, this book explores the profound transformation that occurs when we stop demanding and start attending. Accompanied by the steady, expressive presence of Pepper the dachshund, Rosie’s journey from caution to connection becomes a mirror for our own spiritual unfolding.

This is a story for the burned out, the rushed, and the guarded. It is a gentle invitation to honor your own boundaries, to rediscover wonder as a form of prayer, and to realize that trust is a gift to be earned, not a requirement to be met.

Deeply honest and beautifully observed, The Gospel According to Rosie proves that there is no such thing as ordinary love—and that the most sacred lessons often arrive on silent paws.
