January 15, 2021
Dear Family,
Good News: At our most recent Diocesan Convention, clergy and lay delegates of the Diocese of New Jersey overwhelmingly passed Resolution 2020-3 which stated:
"Be it resolved, That the 236th Convention of the Diocese of New Jersey reaffirm the will of The Episcopal Church General

Convention to take action toward racial justice, healing, and reconciliation;
and be it Further resolved, That the Diocese of New Jersey establish a Task Force to initiate and oversee a multi-year process to examine our sins, complicity, and financial benefits through the history of slavery and its legacy continuing to contemporary practices, and to recommend appropriate actions for the Diocese."
It is with great honor and humility to share with you that I have been appointed today by our Bishop to serve on the Reparations Task Force for this year, 2021.
When Jesus was establishing the format and continuation of his community, He used a rather unique method. He invited folks to come and see, encouraging them to copy his own lifestyle and companionship, using the power of example. Like any good leader, He opened their eyes to great visions of new life. And He was bluntly honest about the price to be paid.
Ordinary people have a tremendously important role to play within our Christian community. Each of us, through our baptismal commitment, has an obligation to respond to the same invitation Jesus held out to his disciples. John 1:35–51 can be understood, not just as an invitation to leadership, but also as the underlying inspiration for all followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Come and See.
May the peace of God be with you+
Blessings,
Mo. Allison+

You cannot pray the Lord’s Prayer and even once say “I.”
You cannot pray the Lord’s Prayer and even once say “My”
Nor can you pray the Lord’s prayer and not pray for one another.
And when you ask for daily bread, you must include your brother. For others are included … in each and every plea.
From the beginning to the end of it, It does not once say “Me.”
