Dearest family and friends of St. Mary's,
Jason and his dad had been in the mountains for three days on a backpacking excursion, one they had planned for several years. It had been a dream come true the morning they said goodbye to his mother and sisters and finally embarked on their long-awaited journey. But now, the dream was broken. They were miles from nowhere, and Jason's dad had taken a terrible fall when the edge of a particularly treacherous portion of the trail gave way under his dad's weight. Jason had managed to climb down to his father and stop the visible bleeding. But his dad was unconscious, and Jason was terribly frightened. He and his dad were not expected to return from their trip for two more days. That was a BIG problem. Jason knew no one would come looking for them until they were overdue. As Jason wondered what in the world he was going to do, he could almost hear the way his dad had encouraged him in other seemingly impossible situations. "Expect a miracle, son," his dad would always say, "and never give up hope." "Well," Jason thought to himself, "we could sure use a miracle right now, Dad." Jason really didn't see any way his father would survive this situation, and it was awfully hard to expect a miracle in the face of such enormous obstacles. But, Jason knew what his dad would do if he were conscious. "God?" Jason began tentatively. "Are you there, God? Can you do anything about this mess Dad and I are in?" Years later, Jason would never tire of telling this story to his grandchildren, always ending with, "Now some would call it a coincidence that the Forest Service was checking the fire line with a helicopter that day. But not me! God was behind it; I have no doubt! It was a miracle, sure enough!" -- Fannin
No matter how bleak the logical world would have us believe a situation is, there is always hope for a miracle. Have a blessed and holy Father's day.
Blessings in Christ,
Mo. Allison+

Looking forward to Summer at St. Mary's!

Membership at St. Mary's consists of several different groups of "members." Some are Confirmed Communicant Members or who have transferred their membership by Letter of Transfer to St. Mary's. Some are Baptized into St. Mary’s or have requested that their names be entered in the Parish Register. Others are “members” by virtue of the fact that St. Mary’s is their church—the Christian community of which they are a part and where they worship regularly. Still, others are “summer members" or friends of
St. Mary's. Many are part of St. Mary’s life, worship at St. Mary’s when in town, and support St. Mary’s financially. Canonically, they are not members in the legal sense, but they are every bit as much members of our parish family as those who are official members.
Please contact the church office if you would like to become a member of St. Mary's and be added to our data base.
We welcome you to join us!
